Re: Should He Stay or Shoul He Go Part 2 - 9 years ago
I guess I just don't get it. Schafer's teams were pretty consistently good over the first 19 years, he made a change in the 20th years and it failed to produce the desired results in a historic way. So the man wants to go back to what had always been successful and everybody is going ape shit. I say good decision and hopefully the team will reap the benefits. Re: Should He Stay or Shoul He Go Part 2 - 9 years ago
My take on this is that Schafer is the coach, and it's up to him to do what he feels necessary to turn things around. He could give a rats ass about what any of us think as he goes about doing whatever it is he is going to do to try and change things. If his tenure is coming to an end, you can be damn sure he's going out on his own terms, with no regrets.by Cop at Lynah - Hockey

Re: What a difference one goal makes - 9 years ago
I believe it's a known trend that our recruits are younger than in previous time periods. It was never unusual to get freshman in at 20-22 years old. Now most of the freshman are 18-20 years old. The younger age brings with it a steeper curve as it relates to be ready for NCAA level of play. Re: Denver @ Cornell #2. 12/6 - 9 years ago
What was with the ice conditions ? I've never seen so many pucks just get caught up in excess water and pretty much stop, guys slipping and falling all over the place. Lynah was not up to it's usual standards for sure.by Cop at Lynah - Hockey

Attendance at Lynah - 9 years ago
How disappointing was it to see section A last Saturday night ? Not sure what else might have been going on but I counted 29 bodies plus the band in section A 10 minutes into the 1st period. It did get a little better during the second period, but not even close to 1/2 full. There are other pockets of empty seats for every home game in section F and G. It won't be long and the much ballyhby Cop at Lynah - Hockey
Re: cornell - quin sat night - 9 years ago
Maybe, just maybe, this will be a turning point in the early season. Coach did/said what he thought was appropriate given the situation, may cost him a fine/suspension but his emotions tell a lot. My thoughts are that the team will rally and have his back, with or without him on the bench this weekend.by Cop at Lynah - Hockey

Whatever happend to our pipeline to the Nanaimo Clippers ? We had a great run of getting top end talent from that organization 5-10 years ago. Was it the assistant coaches, Brekke & Garrow. who had that area on the radar ?by Cop at Lynah - Hockey

Women's Hockey Roster - 9 years ago
The 2014-2015 Cornell women's ice hockey roster posted on Cornellbigred.com only has 19 players listed, including 5 freshman, 2 goaltenders and no Brianne Jenner. Does anyone know if this is their final roster ?by Cop at Lynah - Hockey

As the original creator of this post, I would like to say that Andy has represented Cornell Hockey very well over his 4 years here. Andy provided stability in net, and although not earth shattering numbers in terms of wins and losses, he was steady throughout his career. Andy has one last hurrah in the coming weeks and I wish him and the entire CU hockey team all the best as they strive for anby Cop at Lynah - Hockey
The Lynah of yesteryear - 10 years ago
It was very refreshing to see that Lynah can be what Lynah used to be. The place was packed before the opening face-off and the crowd was louder and more involved than it has been in a few years. It's what hockey night at Cornell should be on a continual basis. The buzz around the rink was very noticeable and I'm sure the players on the ice took notice. Re: 11/2 Quinnipiac - 10 years ago
The "Lynah Experience" has been deminished for quite some time now. It goes back at least to the renovation of Lynah. Students are less vocal and engaged. Local interest has been priced out of season tickets. Hell they can't even sell out the place unless Harvard is in town. I'm afriad the state of affairs in the new norm.by Cop at Lynah - Hockey
Re: UNO - 10 years ago
Good win for Cornell. A lot of positives to take away from this game. Penalty kill was awesome with several shorthanded odd man rushes. Shots on goal were not indicative of the territorial advantage Cornell enjoyed. Now lets see what's left in the tank for tomorrow night.by Cop at Lynah - Hockey

Re: 2012-13 Polls Men & Women - 11 years ago
Interesting to note that on the men's side that of the top 20 teams 7 of them are on our schedule and on the women's side of the top 10 teams Cornell will play 5 of them. In each teams case a very strong strength of schedule which should bode well come playoff time and NCAA seeding.by Cop at Lynah - Hockey
