Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 12 years ago
I'm loving this Brian Sullivan one-liner from his picks on USCHO: The Big Red and Lynah are like James Howlett and adamantium: super-human. Commenting on the SUCKS game no less.by ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Seating @ Union - 12 years ago
billhoward ... nothing like the sea of empty seats at most Cornell-at-Princeton seats.Attendance at Hobey Baker has been improving for the past few years. Last weekend, it looked like most of the seats were occupied (although I'm not sure how many were SRO). Approximately half of the attendees were part of the Cornell contingent.by ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Seating @ Union - 12 years ago
Section 7 is Cornell's student section, although a lot of alumni and family end up sitting there. If the band comes, they will be seated in I or J. Sections 5 and 6 also have a good Cornell presence, usually alumni.by ajh258 - Hockey

jtwcornell91 Kyle Rose without Dino's, Johnny O's, and the Palms, more people will just crowd into Chapterhouse, Pixel, Ruloff's, the Nines, and Dunbar's, I have to say, that's my biggest worry, that the Palms' clientele will move to the Chapter House and mess it up. (Actually, I have occasionally noticed that happening already...) Level B is where those people will end up. For some reasoby ajh258 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: CU-CC 3-3 - 12 years ago
Not sure where to put this, so I'll post it here. Brian Sullivan makes a good point in this week's column about the ECAC's NC record and our inability to get at-large bids: With only three non-conference games remaining on the league’s regular-season docket (Connecticut at Princeton on January 31, and Harvard’s two Hockey East Beanpot games), it has been decided that ECAC Hockey will – once agby ajh258 - Hockey

Jim Hyla marty Willy '06 TheMatrix dbilmes Two questions for the eLynah faithful: 1) Does anyone know the last time we swept the two New Haven-area teams on the road? Last January: Fri, Jan 7, 2011 @ Princeton University 1-2 (W) Sat, Jan 8, 2011 @ Quinnipiac University 2-3 (W) OT Princeton is in New Jersey. Princeton is in New Jersey. PairWise is looking good for us right now. Assuming that CC beats SCSU tonight, we might drop down to 12 or 13; however, that still puts us ahead of the bubble. Edit: Tied for 10th after CC win.by ajh258 - Hockey

toddloseBook your rooms in AC now. I dont want to hear a bunch of bitching about last minute pricing to go and watch us win another ecac championship. Last year everyone was crying about hotel prices, Guess what?? The games are planned again, book your rooms!!! you can always cancel if we dont make it. Reservation madeby ajh258 - Hockey

Re: No wonder our recruits are better - 12 years ago
Posted by my friend on Facebook. This article offers additional insight into the recruiting process. To accomplish this, the league came up with a measurement called the Academic Index, which gives all prospective high school recruits a number, roughly from 170 to 240, that summarizes their high school grade-point averages and scores on standardized tests like the SAT. The index number ofby ajh258 - Hockey

Re: Announcing the College Hockey News iPhone App! - 12 years ago
CowbellGuy Version 1.2.1 is now available. It fixes a nasty crashing bug with iOS 4 from version 1.2. 1.2 added pregame notifications for your favorite team as well as final score and breaking news alerts for your favorite team. Hoorah! Trotsky My completely unscientific opinion on where teams are relative to where they were expected to be, not so much in the standings as in quality of play: Exceeding Expectations: Cornell, Colgate, Clarkson, Harvard Meeting Expectations: Union, Princeton, Brown, St. Lawrence Below Expectations: RPI, Quinnipiac, Dartmouth, Yale The big surprise is obviously Colgate. Re: Not a goal? - 12 years ago
Jim Hyla css228 Kyle Rose css228The ice is a legitimate point, because while BU was better, I still wouldn't say their passing was good. Full stop. Unless you're arguing that the ice was crappier in one direction than the other, and that this crappiness magically reversed for the second period, my point was that both teams had to deal with the same conditions. BU handled the level playing field bby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Not a goal? - 12 years ago
I just watched the highlights again. Millan had a great night, and a lot of credit goes to him for the outcome. Ferlin, Ryan and Lowry all had quality chances and shots, but they were mostly saved by the BU goaltender.by ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Not a goal? - 12 years ago
Al DeFlorio ajh258 oceanst41It was nice to see the creativity on the rush (not just by forwards either, Ryan had a great rush down the left side of the BU zone at one point). Ferlin, for a big kid, can really handle the puck, and his curl and drag on the 1 on 1 early in the game was a good example. They can rush but they can't pass or get juicy rebounds... Still not good enough for the big times.Dby ajh258 - Hockey

Swampy css228 toddlose Yea we lost (was it expected? Honestly, yes). I took a lot of positives from this game. We dominated at times, as in most of the game. We are a very young team. Re: Screw BU - 12 years ago
Redscore ScrewBU ajh258 Horrible officiating... BU didn't deserve it, just like last time. Hahahaha. Cornell could play BU 100 times, and BU wins 99 of those games but never once "deserves it." I guess when Cornell's players have no shot but tee it up right at a defender and he blocks it, that's a bad bounce. Or when they blindly drop the puck behind them but no one's there, that'sby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Not a goal? - 12 years ago
DafatoneStill, we looked good for the most part, outplayed them most of the game, and had chances and some pretty plays. Millan made one AMAZING save in the 2nd period, and we lost on an absolutely ridiculous deflection. Oh well. There's no doubt we had better puck control during periods 2 and 3. However, like you said, Millan was great and Terriers' D outplayed us on numerous occasions. Additiby ajh258 - Hockey
