Re: Season Review - 12 years ago
jkahn ajh258 Great way to end my senior year season. I was kind of upset initially after the loss, but now have realized there is nothing to be disappointed about or ashamed of. Hope to see all of you at future games as an alumnus. Thank you for these unforgettable years. Andrew - I hope you're still doing this 42 years after graduation like me - it'll keep you feeling young. Good speaking wby ajh258 - Hockey

Re: Cornell - Ferris St. Pregame - 12 years ago
Here's the regional preview from USCHO, which I think sums up their team pretty well. We need to hunker down on defense, be patient with the puck in the offensive zone, and play all 60 minutes in order to win today. It's not going to be easy, but after last night, anything seems possible.by ajh258 - Hockey

At the end of the day, talk is just talk. Our team needs to show up and bring its A-game this weekend. Anything less is a one way ticket to the golf course. All if this advanced scouting is useless if players can't perform on game day.by ajh258 - Hockey

Willy '06 I'm planning on heading up from Chicago tomorrow. Is there any specific section I should try to buy tickets in?I have tickets in section 220 and Cornell's allotment is in 217, which is in a corner. Somewhere in that quarter of the rink should be good.by ajh258 - Hockey

Re: Predictions for ALL games this week and PWR results - 12 years ago
Here's my bracket prediction: 1. Worcester - BC vs AF; UMD vs Maine 2. Green Bay - UND vs Cornell; Ferris State vs Denver 3. Bridgeport - Union vs Western Michigan; Miami vs UMass-Lowell 4. St. Paul - Michigan vs Michigan State; Minnesota vs BU First, I swapped UND and Michigan mainly because of bracket integrity. It's not really fair to let the #2 seed face #6 seed when St. Paul and Gby ajh258 - Hockey

Re: Predictions for ALL games this week and PWR results - 12 years ago
billhoward Nice analysis. If Cornell loses both games, Cornell perhaps doesn't deserve to go. Two losses in the last pre-NCAA games seem worse than two January losses. Thanks! Hope to see you tomorrow night at the Boardwalk! jkanWe actually can make the NCAA's despite losing two, in at least several scenarios where Western Michigan also loses two, Union wins the ECACs, BGSU doesn't win the Cby ajh258 - Hockey

RichH ajh258 We can lose RPI. They haven't been producing within or outside the league on a consistent basis for more than a decade now, and Quinnipiac has really outperformed RPI in the past few years consistently. Still, I would really like to see changes in recruitment rules and season start times for the Ivy League - I think those are the biggest issues barring us from getting better playersby ajh258 - Hockey

jtn27 This doesn't really fit anywhere and it doesn't deserve it's own thread, so I'll just stick it here. The last letter in this series of letters seems to be referring to us: Steven J. Predictions for ALL games this week and PWR results - 12 years ago
I know we have a topic about PWR possibilities, but I think it would be more relevant to discuss what results are more likely to happen and then look at where PWR fall. I'm interested in what you guys think would happen next week and what PWR would be if your predictions come true. Here's what I got after wasting my entire evening on PWR predictor. Jim Hyla upprdeck this isnt bball where seeding is really huge.. just get in and you have a shot. even an overall one seed and getting the 16 seed in hockey still means there is a solid chance you lose. But I'd like to take that chance.Agreed. I don't see how the chances of beating BC or Michigan in first round regionals is close to beating Lowell or Maine. However, I concede that being 2nd orby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: You Are The Committee - 12 years ago
Instead of looking at extreme scenarios, I did some tinkering and found what is most likely to happen: If we beat Harvard, we will have the NCAA bid pretty much locked up unless more than 4 or more auto-bids come from outside the top-16. Depending on how the other conference match ups end up, we will get a 3rd or 4th seed (pretty much a toss up) regardless of who we lose to in the championshipby ajh258 - Hockey

Re: Atlantic City Tickets: Which Side is the Home Team - 12 years ago
ajh258 I think Cornell students will get section 103/104, but I'm not 100% sure. Dartmouth sat in that section last year with the 2nd seed. We sat in 107/106 as the 3rd seed. I will ask the ticket office tomorrow and will let you know.Cornell ticket office does not have the tickets physically, so I had to order them online as will-call tickets. I have no idea where my seats are.by ajh258 - Hockey
