Re: Soccer Chant - 16 years ago
imafrshmnIt makes me wonder how many undergrads use Elynah these days. I think it's mostly alums, at least judging from the IP addresses. You kids on East Hill seem to be able to find better uses of your time. Quarter cards aren't a bad idea. See if you can't print out 100 or so and distribute them to A and B during the game.by mnagowski - Hockey

Roy 82In this day and age I don't see any good reason why I shouldn't be able to purchase a webcast of a broadcast channel. Couldn't agree with you more. It would be nice if they could throw the feed up onto ESPN360.com, but of course, that would make too much sense. I'm going to load up Sopcast around 4PM to see if ESPNU doesn't show up, but I think our best bet at this point is the Clarksoby mnagowski - Hockey
Re: Soccer Chant - 16 years ago
Well, if you can get enough people on board for tomorrow afternoon, it might be picked up by ESPNU and we can throw it on YouTube. Maybe print out some lyric sheets and distribute them during the intermissions? I always enjoyed the chants that take place at Lynah East. Typically we'll start off with a 'Grade Inflation' chant, to which the Cantabrigians respond with 'SUNY-Ithaca', and we'll retby mnagowski - Hockey

This would be fantastic if the entire student section could get on the same page! What tune are the lyrics set to? It reminds me of a cheer from the old days:by mnagowski - Hockey

marty From USCHO: Achilles Center Dimensions: 200x85 Capacity: 2,225 For what it is worth, Wikipedia lists 201x86 ft. And the corner in the picture does seem a little bit shallow.by mnagowski - Hockey

Scersk '97This team is heavily freshman and sophomore driven. They're going to make mistakes; they're going to get pushed around. I think those are two really good recruiting classes, though. One more like those and we're set to make a deep run. Then it's just the matter of a hot, talented goalie. Can Scrivens be that goalie? He currently has a 94.4% save percentage and 1.58 GAA in ECAC plby mnagowski - Hockey
Re: Union Postgame - 16 years ago
I beg to differ. Sure, 2 points are great for a weekend in the North Country or at Lynah East and in Hanover. But not all road games are created equal. I expect at least 1 point against Union. Still, I realize that last night's game against RPI was physically exhausting and the team was hurting a bit tonight. As Trotsky noted in the other thread, I hope we can learn something from tonight.by mnagowski - Hockey
Re: cornell at union 3 score Cornell 1 Union 2 (Final) - 16 years ago
Yeah. Like not to start playing when there are only five minutes left in the game. At least next time we play union we will not have to worry about RPI exhausting us the night before.by mnagowski - Hockey

Cornell PP! That stick being caught in the goalie's skate was really amusing. Shame we couldn't knock one in there.by mnagowski - Hockey

ACMmetaezraThe Greening-Nash line seems to be a non-factor. They've actually been a huge factor--turnovers by that line led to odd-man rushes that resulted in both Union goals. Er... you know what I meant.by mnagowski - Hockey

Riley's been skating around with the puck a lot, but he doesn't seem be keen on passing.by mnagowski - Hockey
Re: cornell at union 3rd Period score Cornell 1 Union 1 - 16 years ago
Union just scored on an awful turnover. The team looks absolutely out of it tonight. No legs. No checking. Sloppy passing. The Greening-Nash line seems to be a non-factor.by mnagowski - Hockey

Absolutely riveting. The Red look a little sore from last night.by mnagowski - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 RPI 1 (3rd period) - 16 years ago
Is it just me, or has RPI been placing dirty hits all game? Elbows and knees and follow-through shoves... Love how Sawada gets the 10 minute major while the RPI goon only gets five minutes.by mnagowski - Hockey

Milstein, Duffield, Weill, Bauer, and Appel all add some ethnic diversity to Cornell's campus. But I'd love to slap a big fat Polish name on one of the buildings: Orzeoscski! Wszniciki! Grabowski!by mnagowski - Hockey

Niagara coach: Cornell is the biggest, strongest, fastest team we will play this season. Unless we make it to the tournament, the Red's only two non-conference victories this season will have been against Niagara. Not that it's any consolation, but Niagara has beaten Sacred Heart, Bowling Green, Western Michigan, and Holy Cross.by mnagowski - Hockey

Good to see that the team's spirit wasn't broken after Niagara crawled their way back.by mnagowski - Hockey
