Re: Funny opposing fans at games - 4 years ago
1990 Cornell vs Colgate football, my sophomore year. I drove from Ithaca to Hamilton to see a friend from HS, party, and watch the game (in that priority order). Cornell returned the opening kickoff well over midfield and scored just a few plays later. I of course began taunting every fan in my section and jumping around like an idiot. By the end of the game, the score was about 1000-7 in favorby gonyr - Hockey

Re: How to get tickets. - 6 years ago
Call the Yale ticket office. I've done this before to bring a group of 20 to Lynah and have seats together. They are very friendly, and won't care that you have no affiliation with Yale (unlike those jerks at Princeton). I'm pretty sure they'll take care of you, with the only downside that you have to be in section O.by gonyr - Hockey
Re: Replacement Song for Swanee/Over There - 7 years ago
andyw2100 abmarks That cheer has been played for what, close to 30 years now (at minimum) This is just off the top of my head, but I am reasonably certain it hasn't been close to thirty years. If I had to set an over/under, I'd set it at fourteen. If the band somehow decides to bring back "Swanee", could we also perhaps convince them to bring back "Mary Had A Little Lamb"by gonyr - Hockey

Re: Dunbars - 11 years ago
I really hope a possible new owner keeps it exactly the way it is. Although maybe purchasing a broom and a mop would be appropriate upgrades. Every college needs a true dive bar. For Cornell to have one that the Stanley Cup has visited is pretty special. I always make a point to stop in before last call when I'm back in Ithaca. It's truly comforting that Dunbar's has stayed the same all these yeaby gonyr - John Spencer Is Dead

Scersk '97 gonyr Trotsky 3 is a lot for Schafer. I wonder if any are wavering and this is insurance. OTOH, we haven't had a really gripping goalie controversy since D'Alessio-Crozier. Always thought of that as more of a platoon than a controversy. How about Bandurski-Skazyk for one year in the early '90s? There was no controversy. Both were... not the best. But Skazyk could steal theby gonyr - Hockey

Re: Cornell 4 Yale 2 - 12 years ago
upprdeck anyone hear if the dude who got clocked and bled all over suffered more than just stiches in his head? He went right in front of me as they were taking him out. He looked to be a mess, with blood running down his face and all over his shirt, but seemed to be walking under his own power and talking with the EMTs. Re: Bemidji State - 15 years ago
I saw them play about a month ago at Niagara, who was badly overmatched. Bemidji had two or three guys that could really fly, but the rest of the team seemed fairly nondescript. Niagara was clearly not at the same overall skill level, yet tried to skate with them in an end-to-end style game. It's tough to say how Bemidji will do against Cornell's size advantage and defense-first strategy. As farby gonyr - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Princeton Post-game - 15 years ago
This felt like a real gut-punch. The game seemed well in hand, if a bit tight. Cornell was definitely carrying play for the first 50 minutes. Even after the first Princeton goal, it seemed like OT, and probably a tie, was fairly well assured. Then, instant flashback to the undergrad years and that horrible empty feeling in the pit of my stomach. This ends my personal four year winning streak.by gonyr - Hockey
