If I were the opposing team last night’s performance would scare the Dickens out of me.

I think it's more about rewarding the second tier guys with playing time. LEE-hay will keep getting minutes, especially when we need a boot to the offensive head. Get him, Driven, and Re-GOOSH together sometime.

Or maybe Cairns just has a better right cross.

You’re confusing someone else with Ruh-GEESH, who played in the Princeton game.

Whoever decided to come over and start nudging at Betts while he was getting up after getting hurt should have gotten like six penalties.

For the 6th season in Mike's tenure, we've struck red.

While I share your concern about the PK, it seemed inevitable that we would let up a bit and Colgate couldn’t be much worse than they were last night and in the 1st period. Even with that, we were up 5-1 until the last few minutes.

It's weird to think that we have one loss on the season and still hit red later than a couple years ago.

I mentioned on the chat that from my eyes our forwards on the PK seem to be getting too close to each other, leaving to much room for the opponents on the points and on the wings. We appear so focused on shutting off the slot that we’re leaving ourselves vulnerable in other areas of the offensive zone. And it doesn’t help that too often we’re missing on opportunities to clear the puck from the zone.

Since we don't have a roundup on Sundays, typically, these probably won't be published anywhere - so - figured I'd put it here ...

re: Cornell PK ... quotes by Coach

"our penalty killing SUCKED"

"we had it resolved a couple weeks ago, and now we're back to making the same stupid blunders we made previous to this"

"it's just something that pisses me off as a coach that we can't be consistent in our penalty killing"

"we addressed it this morning, and the things we addressed this morning, we didn't get done today ... we have the pucks on our sticks to clear, and we just flip it to a guy, we don't get it the length of the ice to break the pressure - that's one. Two, we either under-rotate or over-rotate, so we give up seams. And three, honestly, when things break down, we're not getting the save that we need at different times. There's a lot of times you can't blame him - the last one was through a seam backdoor for a tap in. So it's just a combination of all different things. And we need to get better."

really the lack of shots that is turning into goals is a bad sign when we play good teams. we are the opposite puck control and shots but no goals.. the first period really could have turned into 6-7 to 1.. After that mid 2nd we reverted to some bad effort again.

Out of all of the years we could have attended Cornell, we happened to land on about the only lousy 3-year period in the last 60. I guess one benefit for me taking five years to graduate was that I was there for the '90-'91 season.

OK, ‘95er. As a member of the class of ‘96, imagine 1993 being your introduction to this program. Now how you feel when your Senior year completes the most extreme crescendo since the class of ‘67. Fan for life.

That's exactly what it's supposed to show -- the emotional reward of record over a certain period. My first seasons were 82-84 so believe me, I get it.

96 was the most therapeutic season in sports I have ever witnessed. If nothing else for this (see Harvard).

Try it the other way around. I started with "The Providence Game" my freshman year, a trip to the Frozen Four (when only four teams made the NCAA's) my sophomore year, and nearly winning the championship again junior year. But then we finished under 0.500 senior year, and didn't even make the playoffs.

After a small rebound the slide in the 80's started and I kind of lost interest in the team for a while...

Also my freshman year. I was having too much fun in Lynah to realize how much we basically sucked those 1st 3 years.
