andyw2100 upprdeck Trotsky upprdeck it would be nice if lynah had decent internet to actually use my cell phone while in the building.Funny you say this. I favor the opposite. Put the pacifiers away for a couple hours and be a present human being. Your dildos can function at home. except that some of us are on call 24x7 or like to keep track of out of town scores or the bball team. betweeby Weder - Hockey

upprdeck i wonder if the NIL game will trickle into college hockey or maybe it already has for those bigger schools.. play college make 500K is pretty good for the high level talent. I think there's very little chance a college hockey player will get that kind of money. According to this site, in the first year of NIL, men's hockey didn't even register in terms of compensation, and women's hockby Weder - Hockey

jts15 It has some alumni in it so I'm posting here. Is this in Lynah? Thanks @cornellmhockey @cornellwhockey!Thrilled to show off our new branding project here in Ithaca, NY. It'll help a lot if Penn State keeps playing well and wins the CHA tournament to keep a team from outside the top 11 from taking an autobid. Probably also want to root for Northeastern to get the Hockey East autobid.by Weder - Hockey

Nice bounce-back win against Colgate, 4-2, today after Cornell got smoked in Hamilton on Friday. Colgate (10-3), Cornell (9-4-1) and Clarkson (9-4-1) are in a pretty tight race for the 3-4-5 spots in the ECAC with Quinnipiac (13-2) and Yale (12-1-1) having separated themselves a bit from the pack. Given the remaining schedule, the Red still have a great shot at home ice in the first round of theby Weder - Hockey

Trotsky 7 players on the Q roster are listed, ahem, "graduate students." Just imagine how sophisticated that locker room must be. Meanwhile, Lindsay Browning was getting a master’s in biomedical engineering when she played as a grad student last season.by Weder - Hockey
Re: Men's Basketball 22-23 - 1 year ago
mountainred Computers list Cornell as a one (KenPom) to three (T-Page) favorite tonight. Yale's offense has been sputtering a bit; their only Ivy win so far was a 58-54 rockfight with Harvard. FYI, just noticed that today's game is a 5 p.m. start (on ESPNU), for anyone who was planning to watch.by Weder - Other Sports

Jeff Hopkins '82 Weder Jeff Hopkins '82 Figured I'd ask this here, although it's not "pros yet. I'm "watching" the women's U18 match between the US and Sweden. The announcers mentioned that one of the US players was heading to Cornell. They also said that her mother went there. Anybody know which player she is? It’s goalie Annelies Bergmann. Thanks. Re: Opponents and Others, 2022-23 - 1 year ago
Trotsky #2 at home, #8 and #9 on the road. I hope we can get a win out of those 3 games and then feast on the rest of the schedule. The Goal is top 3 in the ECAC to avoid Q until the Placid final, and then top 12 in the PWR to avoid a regional 1-seed (Who knows? Maybe Q again.) until the NC$$ QF. Regionals and hosts (with current PWR) N Manchester (UNH #49) E Allentown (Pedo State #4)by Weder - Hockey

Re: Cornell lacrosse 2023 - 1 year ago
George64 billhowardThe announcers saying there'd be a five-minute warmup then play resumes suggested the NFL had that as the plan for Monday night's game rather than that's what happens when an injury stops play for 20+ minutes. The NFL, of course, said they had no intention of resuming play. That begs the question, why did they need to wait an hour to cancel the game? . I saw one tweet -by Weder - Other Sports

Trotsky billhoward TrotskyI thought the factory schools got football a carve out of Title IX, and that the ratios were determined from all other sports? That has been the fond hope of many college football fans because there's nothing on the women's side to offset football. The majority of FBS (Alabama class) do not make money but it's unclear if half don't or 90% don't. If all did, it would helpby Weder - Other Sports

scoop85 billhoward scoop85I don’t think our women’s team will be much of a factor in the Ivies, and frankly Dayna Smith is a mediocre (at best) coach. She struck gold when Meduka came to campus, but the team hasn’t been especially competitive in the league since she graduated. Iceberg A bit early, but apparently, Cornell will be in a holiday tournament in Lake Placid with UMass, Clarkson, and ASU during next year's winter break. I would assume Clarkson and Cornell would not play each other in that tournament in either semifinal, so that guarantees at least one OOC game with the other being OOC or a non-conference matchup with Clarkson. Interesting comment from Schafer at the end of this week’s email update: Mike Schafer This weekend, we make a road-trip to the North Country before returning to Lynah the following weekend. Friday we play St. Lawrence (5-4 overall, 2-0 ECAC) and on Saturday we face Clarkson (3-6 overall, 1-1 ECAC), so competition continues and games aren’t getting easier.
