Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: PWR Today, 2-17-02 - 22 years ago
So here's the question - what about catching the likes of SCSU, Denver, and Minnesota? I haven't looked this week, but last week they were our best chances for additional comparisons, assuming that Colgate, Brown, and UAH finish as TUCs. Gotta love the flawed PWR, where taking comparisons that you have no business taking can boost your ranking into the top 5. Nice summary Robb. I doubt Cornelby tml5 - Hockey
Re: Perspective - 22 years ago
Don't forget Travis Bell. He's one of the fastest guys on the team, and he doesn't get knocked off the puck very much. I think Iggulden and Knoepfli move pretty well for their size, but it's tough to compare Cornell skaters because the whole team emphasizes positioning over using skating ability to catch up. Of course, if they didn't emphasize positioning, I doubt the team GA/GP would be so loby tml5 - Hockey
Re: Nick Boucher - White Trash Presto - 22 years ago
I dunno about JR's games at Bright, but he played astonishingly well at Lynah. It's not his fault that RT was the coach for his whole career. Actually, he was wildly inconsistent. Presto could be the best goalie in college hockey one night, and then turn in a real clunker for several games in a row. Anybody crazy enough to have Presto's stats from the games he played at Lynah? I'm sure we coby tml5 - Hockey
Re: Best time and place to buy ECAC tourny tix - 22 years ago
It depends. If you'll go regardless of Cornell's presence at LP, then buy now. If not, wait until Cornell gets there. As for the QF tickets - technically Cornell hasn't clinched home ice, and even after home ice is definite the ticket office probably won't have the sale dates set. My guess is season ticket holders will have until a few days after the end of the season to cash in their coupon,by tml5 - Hockey
Re: FAQ - 22 years ago
So is that a question for the faq, or is that something you really want to know? ) I could tell you where I get mine, but then I'd have to kill you. Ok, I'll be serious for a moment. I get them from here: I think some of the other people get their fancy smilies elsewhere, though. Do a google search or something and you'll find them.by tml5 - Hockey
Re: Cornell makes NHL.com's "In the Slot" again - 22 years ago
Sweet. I'm guessing that wasn't a facts error, but an editing mistake. After all, if they haven't changed the Matt/Mark McRae thing (they hadn't last time I was there). . . Unless, of course, someone sent them an email. But that's just impossible! Nobody on this forum could have access to email! )by tml5 - Hockey
Re: Cornell makes NHL.com's "In the Slot" again - 22 years ago
Um, I don't know if the article got changed, but it does say "nearly outlasted" Northern Michigan. That implies that Cornell lost the game, at least to me.by tml5 - Hockey
Re: Offtopic: Olympics - 22 years ago
Well, I'm here before bed, I might as well respond. . . Antal spent a year at the University of Calgary, which may have caused her name to be dropped from the Ivy League list. After all, she isn't an Ivy League student anymore. I suppose I could email the Ivy League to find out for sure, but 1) it's not that important to me and 2) I'm waaaaay too lazy.by tml5 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Princeton (Friday) - 22 years ago
I think I was responding to one of the posts just before mine with the "great defense" comment. Now that I look at it, great defense wasn't implied, so I retract that statement. I thought (and still think) that some of the earlier posts gave Cornell too much credit for a well-played game. The lesser team lost, but that's about all you can say. I think it was just an off night. Someby tml5 - Hockey
Re: Offtopic: Olympics - 22 years ago
Did Antal actually graduate? I know she left the team a year or two early to train with the Canadian national team, and I'm not sure what happened to her academically. She may have transferred to a non-Ivy to finish her degree, which would explain why the Ivy League doesn't have her listed. Another possible explanation is that the Ivy League just didn't know that Antal had played at Cornell, eby tml5 - Hockey

Re: Cornell vs Princeton (Friday) - 22 years ago
I'm not sure where everyone is seeing all of this great defense. There was no defense played in the first period, and if Underhill had been merely good it would've been at least 3-1. If Princeton had anybody who could put the puck in the net, and Underhill had been merely good, it would've been more like 5-1. Seriously. Cornell came out strong in the second period, but there were still a *lotby tml5 - Hockey
Re: Question about Chris Higgins - 22 years ago
Ouch is right. So there's some J-Pop idol singer superstar at Columbia, too, but I can never remember her name. Anyone heard about this one?by tml5 - Hockey
Re: test - 22 years ago
Dexter? Give me the Powerpuff Girls anyday! I didn't notice a dexter, but there's a LOT of smileys there, and some of them are broken links, so maybe there'll be a Dexter up soon. Here's the link: Hey Jeff, you still in Ithaca? Send an email if you're still around.by tml5 - Hockey
