ugarte I hate this fucking tournament. Lousy field and still can't win. Treading water as long as Mike's in charge.by ithacat - Hockey

Trotsky ithacat Trotsky I just hope when we have prospects who have a growth spurt that they don't decommit. I wonder a bit about Kaldis. IIRC he just showed up on the radar in the Spring and now poof he's here. There was no lead time. Did he decommit from somebody else? According to Heisenberg's list he committed in March 2015.I am old. Somebody please check on me from time to time to sby ithacat - Hockey

Swampy CU2007 Limoges and Green named to Team USa for World Junior A Challenge. Very nice. Very impressive. Only ECACHL school with any players on the team. Several schools have 2 players on the team, but no school has more. True, however, this is an opportunity for non-NTDP players. Nothing wrong with that, and Limoges and Green appear to be exciting prospects, but the top talent is withby ithacat - Hockey
Re: 10/21 UOIT - 7 years ago
Kubiak, Wedman, and Bliss didn't dress last night, nor did they for the Red/White game. I thought Kaldis looked the best of the freshmen. Looked smart, composed, and willing to skate with the puck. Murphy looked like he can be a dangerous player but was pushed off the puck too easily, which isn't a big surprise. Malott looked like he can contribute right from the start. I didn't really noticeby ithacat - Hockey
Re: Syracuse sports on a roll - 7 years ago
billhoward Syracuse is picking up the pace in more than lacrosse and basketball. Syracuse field hockey is unbeaten and ranked No. 1 this year (RPI), won the NCAA title last fall, and was runner-up the year before. (Princeton is the only Ivy in the top 20, currently at 13.) Men's soccer is ranked No. 5. (Princeton and Dartmouth are top 35.) Women's ice hockey, in its 9th season, is inby ithacat - Other Sports
Re: Topher Scott - 7 years ago
RatushnyFan The 30 games are just league games probably. The U16 Syracuse Stars AAA midget team played 60 games last year. http://www.myhockeyrankings.com/rank.php?y=2015&a=4&v=117 They played 5 games this weekend at the Roc City Showdown. Their USPHL 28 game regular season begins this weekend in Rochester, for whom an Ithacan named Matteas Derraugh plays. Curious how his teams wilby ithacat - Hockey

scoop85 New recruit (for 2018-19) -- Josh Nelson, forward for the Chicago Fury U-18 team. He's a draft pick of the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL. Unfortunately, Nelson recently signed with London (OHL).by ithacat - Hockey
Re: Topher Scott - 7 years ago
Bit surprised to see Topher back into coaching so soon after leaving Cornell.by ithacat - Hockey
Re: Recruits 2016 and Beyond - 7 years ago
Trotsky Predictions for Cornellians in the draft, anyone? 1. Two recruits born a day apart (Betts and Limoges) will get drafted in succession. 2. Cornell's total will not equal the number of BU's first round selections.by ithacat - Hockey
Re: New Rules? - 7 years ago
Love the rule. Hurts Cornell, but love it as a fan of speed and skill.by ithacat - Hockey
Re: Cornell Lax hosts Brown, Senior Day 04/23/16 - 8 years ago
Brown just took a massive dump on the program. There's young, and then there's just average.by ithacat - Other Sports
Re: Wrestling 2015-16 - 8 years ago
George64 Future Cornellian, Yianni Diakomihalis, named to USA Today’s All-USA wrestling team in the 138-pound class. A junior and four-time NYS champion, he has an opportunity to become only the second wrestler to win five state championships. The other - four-time All-American Troy Nickerson '10. Also named the D&C's All-Greater Rochester wrestler of the year for the 4th straight year. Hby ithacat - Other Sports
Re: Cornell Lax vs Syracuse, 2016 April 12 - 8 years ago
Al DeFlorio Despite losing 18 of 22 faceoffs, Red beat Orange 10-9 in OT. Amazing. The stats in general favored SU, but what a nice win.by ithacat - Other Sports
Re: Hobey Baker 2016 - Jimmy Vesey - 8 years ago
RichH ithacat Not happy at all. The gap between Cornell and the elite just keeps getting bigger. Harvard can hardly be called "elite" this season. NCAA and Hobey. I'll take it over what Mike's putting on the ice.by ithacat - Hockey

Mediocre coach, mediocre program. Athletics is a mess.by ithacat - Other Sports
Re: Basketball 2015-16 - 8 years ago
upprdeck they should take a look at the guy GT just let go.. Wonder why he got canned? Did a great job at Dayton and finally looked like he was turning Tech around...he'll get a much better job than Cornell.by ithacat - Other Sports
Re: More Realignment Coming: Notre Dame to B1G - 8 years ago
upprdeck no scholies in a tougher league will be hard. It would, however, raise their recruiting profile so they'd be after better players. Last I remember they blew us out of BCA and made us look slow and confused. Would like another crack at them. *Totally forgot we got another crack at them at Lynah and lost.by ithacat - Hockey
Re: Basketball 2015-16 - 8 years ago
shasta1 Kevin and Brian Earl hmmm....shooting for the moon once again from Noel. What do you expect? Administration doesn't prioritize athletics. Facilities are woeful. Andy will be lucky to find a good one.by ithacat - Other Sports
Re: Wrestling 2015-16 - 8 years ago
upprdeck Brian Realbuto loses in round 1.. a shocker Whole season's been a shocker. Rob really needs to find his recruiting mojo fast.by ithacat - Other Sports
Re: First round vs Union - 8 years ago
CowbellGuy Here are the numbers (from ). 2010 is probably skewed since it's Harvard. Not including playoff tickets in student season tickets and making them optional for townies has always hurt playoff attendance. 2009 vs RPI 3813 3952 3812 2010 vs Harvard 4267* 4267* 2011 vs Quinnipiac 3978 4037 3813 2012 vs Dartmouth 3869 4267* *sellout 2014 vs Clarkson 3742 3952by ithacat - Hockey
Re: Future Coaching? - 8 years ago
TrotskyThe recruited forwards are getting smaller. Hopefully that means quicker and higher skilled. This year they brought in Vanderlaan (5-7) and Lalor (5-11). (Though Angello and Starrett are both 6-5, I'm not going to complain about them). Coming soon we've got a whole bunch of smaller forwards: Donaldson at 5-6, Hoffman and Regush at 5-9, Murphy and Nelson at 5-10. Of 16 commitments onby ithacat - Hockey
Re: union-cornell - 8 years ago
upprdeck well that was ugly.. a decent amount of good chances and shots but man the Dmen made so many bad decisions that put us in a bind.. Sums up the last few seasons... Union owns Lynah and they celebrated with a longer stick salute to their fans tonight than Cornell could muster.by ithacat - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Harvard 02/19/16 - 8 years ago
DisplacedCornellian Beeeej Robb Pornspam? I just answered "How can we improve the hockey experience?" with "Replace the head coach." My suggestion was "Bring back Mark Mazzoleni." I went with play Cornell more often.by ithacat - Hockey
Re: Wrestling 2015-16 - 8 years ago
Very humbly season continues. Combination of poor recruiting and bad luck (injuries/illness). Man we were spoiled for a few years. Now a good team is a disappointment. Next year looks like it'll be even tougher. Rob needs to step up recruiting big time.by ithacat - Other Sports
Re: Basketball 2015-16 - 8 years ago
Swampy Big win. Do you think it will save Courtney's job? Do we want to save Courtney's job? Yes & Yes. Courtney is the best recruiter the program has ever had. If anything, he should have brought in an experienced former HC as an assistant to help him learn on the job. Basketball is never going to get a successful HC to build its program. Team is starting to show promise and is pretty younby ithacat - Other Sports

Nebraska toying with Cornell early. Sad what injuries seem to have done to Grey the younger.by ithacat - Other Sports
