adamw rediceIf I don't get in: Do you need an assistant for the tourney, Adam? hmmm - maybe BTW - I'm still not ready to concede that the 1 million number is certainly wrong, either ... cases in Westchester, where this started in NY, jumped from 12 to 80 just in a few days. Re: Corona Virus And Playoff Games - 4 years ago
adamw Granted my numbers about being in the millions by end of March may be considered hysteria - but I am not personally hysterical I would go to LP and the NCAAs with no real concern, personally, and I'm 49. But I do believe we will continue to see over-reactions by sports leagues and other places of large gatherings - because everyone is afraid that, if they don't do something, they'll getby redice - Hockey
Re: Corona Virus And Playoff Games - 4 years ago
adamw I've already predicted the NCAAs will be played in front of no fans. Lake Placid - not as sure right now. But I would not be surprised one iota. Cases are doubling every couple days or so? With that rate, it would be in the millions by end of March. And, if Cornell wins those fanless NCAA's without me being there, I will carry hard-on for the rest of my life that I did NOT get to see thatby redice - Hockey

Re: 2020-02-29: Cornell vs Clarkson - 4 years ago
CU2007 redice ice Clarkson making the game chippy. Disappointed in Casey. There were an inordinate number of times when Clarkson players "fell down" near Red players appearing to try to draw penalties that just weren't there. I applaud the officials for not being fooled. Shame on Casey for this tactic... Just play the freaking game, Casey! Safe bet he didn’t craft his game planby redice - Hockey

upprdeck US odds are not at all on horse racing at whats best for the house.. it has zero to do with it. Thats different than normal gambling which is trying to create a margin for profit. Betting on horse is for smart people and the facts support it. betting on everything else is for people who will most of the time go broke over the long run. ursusminor marty scoop85 ursusminor Lynah East seemed like Houston East (a.k.a. Beaumont) on Friday. Granted that the Harvard fan(s) had little to cheer about, but it certainly sounded on the broadcast like RPI had a larger presence than Harvard. This despite the fact that attendance in Troy has been diminishing steadily for years. Nice to see RPI—-a school with a great hockey tradition and a cby redice - Hockey

upprdeck So you are saying that all the time spent on DRF PP to figure out the horses is time wasted and guessing by lucky numbers and pretty colors and horses names would be better use of my time? If that's what he's saying, he's right!! I recall going to the track with my first wife. After studying everything available, I did poorly. Trotsky Jeff Hopkins '82 Trotsky They named none of the Yale forwards to either team. None of Arcobella, Backman, O'Neill, Little, and Miller. That is... questionable. First team yet to come. You'd have to think at least one of them would end up there.Nope, they announced it already. Since the ECAC isn't very good at this, here are the selections in simple form: First Team: F Jiby redice - Hockey

marty I think I heard Jason mention that Coach Schafer didn't call time out after two successive icing calls in the third period. That was followed by Sam Malinski's insurance goal and also allowed for a time out later in the period. You heard that correctlyby redice - Hockey
Re: 2020-02-22: Cornell 3 Brown 0 - 4 years ago
scoop85 Heckuva better weekend at Yale-Brown than last year’s 1-pt debacle, including a blown 3-goal lead in Providence. I'm even feeling a lot better about our NC chances after the lock-down defense I witnessed this weekend.by redice - Hockey

Jim Hyla nshapiro marty Best drift of the year. Thanks. (And...had to rotate my Android phone to see your pup.) meh...I always make fun of my brother whose message on his home answering machine lists the pets as family members. We used to do that, until we ended up with 6 rescued cats and 1 dog (mine) They are still family members. Who has pets who aren't family members?by redice - Hockey

Re: Union & RPI Weekend News - 4 years ago
Jim Hyla And I hope we can win in LP, as I'm losing enthusiasm about our chances in the NCAAs. Yes, we could win it all, if we were to put together multipe games where we played for a full 60 min. But they just don't give me confidence. Shouldn't have to have nail biters against teams down in the rankings. Re: Polls 2019-20 - 4 years ago
osorojo I hate it when a bunch of sissies/socialists say "Everyone gets equal credit and everyone takes equal blame." Heroes and villains, not consortiums and conglomerates, are what make sports and life interesting. I suspect that, even when a coach says "we", he has, in his mind, players who are more/less problematic. That's why we fans see players come/go from the lineuby redice - Hockey
Re: Polls 2019-20 - 4 years ago
I'm going to take a guess and speculate that some may not have read your mind and known that "WWND" meant "What Would Ned Do"..... That's the problem with the use of acronyms.... Just sayin......by redice - Hockey
Re: Polls 2019-20 - 4 years ago
abmarks osorojo I suspect the most successful coaches use the word "you" rather than "we" when ascribing blame. Nobody wants to share the blame for someone else's mistakes. Unfortunately, I don't have the numbers/statistics to defend this claim. Are you nuts? The most successful coaches, managers, bosses, executives, generals, etc etc will do the exact opposite. osorojo Back in the 60's - early in Ned Harkness' stint as Cornell coach, I sat above and right next to the aisle in the bleachers used by both teams to reach the Colgate dressing rooms. At the end of the second period Cornell was CLOBBERING Colgate. Ned and the Colgate coach brought up the rear, walking side by side some distance behind their teams. abmarks ursusminor Interesting list, Trotsky. Who was from the Northwest Territories? Not that it is important, but didn't Quebec change to QC? Joe Dragon. Yes, the stories that I remember hearing about Joe's home were: A: He lived 1000 miles north of Edmonton and B: He lived so far from campus that he couldn't go home for Christmas and get back before break ended.
