Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Cornell 1 at Colgate 1 - 21 years ago
Just keeps re-buffering here until it seems to time out. Dialup speeds out here in the "boondocks" are only about 24K.by redice - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1 at Colgate 1 - 21 years ago
They haven't fixed it yet. I'll keep looking. Tnx.by redice - Hockey

Does anyone have a link to the Colgate radio broadcast? My dialup connection won't support the video. Thanks. Billby redice - Hockey
Re: First Line - 21 years ago
Bingo!!! Fred '83. Occasionally, Dick Bertrand would split them up....trying to "balance" the scoring. But, whenever he put them back on the same line, it was the same thing: red lights came on. That was the best CU line ever. Even better than Doug Ferguson, Dave Ferguson, and Mike Doran. What d'ya say, Al?by redice - Hockey
Re: Ken Dryden Pics - 21 years ago
I'm not sure "wow" even covers it. Thanks for sharing that Evan. For those of us who were there during the Dryden era, these pictures bring back many fond memories. Aside from the obvious (Dryden), did anyone notice a common theme of all the pictures? Answer: it was Ned's boys taking care of business in the defensive zone. Sound like a a familiar theme. Hopefully Mike's boysby redice - Hockey
Re: As if we didn't already hate CornellPass - 21 years ago
I'm sorry that RN did this. But, I think you all can now understand my lack of willingness to just give RN unfettered access to my credit card account. If you're dealing with a business that's incompetent or unscrupulous, they can overcharge you and it becomes your problem to solve. I don't chose to spend my time fighting to get my own money back. If they had offered a true billing option (oby redice - Hockey
Re: Cornell Feed Screw-up - 21 years ago
I'm sorry to hear all of the difficulties that you've been having. I think you can now understand why I was unwilling to give these a**holes (RN) my credit card info. In October, I asked RN enough questions to determine that they were all about getting my money and NOT necessarily assuring that I receive the product that I paid for. Now, I fully understand RN wanting to get their paymeby redice - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Harvard (SUCKS) Score updates - 21 years ago
Greg said: BTW, a post-game scoring change gave Doug Murray his first goal of the season (taking away Palahicky's first -- I guess Shane didn't tip Doug's heavy blast after all). That's real strange. It was clear to me that Shane did tip that shot into the net. It sounds like they just decided that the big guy needed a goal to get him going.by redice - Hockey
Re: All best slapshot from a defensemen - 21 years ago
From the Harkness era: the one that comes mind for me is Bruce Pattison. Lodboa was a better all around scorer. Bruce had that big slapshot. From the Bertrand era: Lance Nethery wasn't bad either.by redice - Hockey

Re: cornell @ dartmouth 11/16/02 - updates - 3-1 DC 2ndP - 21 years ago
It's (3-1 deficit) no joke. I've been trying to listen to DC's webcast. I'm only getting about 30%. And, considering that, only half of what those guys have to say is worth listening to, I finally had to mute it to cut the frustration level here. I did get it that DC is up 3-1 in the second period. Anyone else having problems with the webcast cutting out....a lot?by redice - Hockey
Re: Quotes - 21 years ago
John: You are correct. The comment about the credit card payment was indeed from me. I guess nobody else shares that concern, huh? Adam: The RED face should be mine. Sorry about that!by redice - Hockey
Re: Links to free audio broadcasts by Cornell's opponents - 21 years ago
Here's a note that Laura Stange sent to me: Thank you for your e-mail regarding our internet broadcasting. We regret that we cannot continue to offer Big Red internet broadcasts free of charge. Due to the recent upheaval in the Internet broadcasting industry, we had to look at new options for providing netcasts of hockey, football, basketball and lacrosse. In the past, we were fortunate to hby redice - Hockey
Re: Krzysztof drafted... sorta - 22 years ago
Rumor has it that Matt Underhill has a more "personal" connection with the Elmira area right now. That might inspire him to give the Elmira Jackals more consideration than you might think. The Jackals would love to have him. Jackals #1 goalie, Vermont grad Christian Soucy, may be ready to hang em up. The current #2 Jackals goalie is Jeremy Symington & #3 (seldom dressed) is Seaby redice - Hockey
Re: Underhill - 22 years ago
It troubles me that Matt was not even dressed & on the bench as an emergency back-up on Friday night. That makes the injury seem serious to me. If Todd Marr wasn't present, did CU really start a game with just one goalie? Who was dressed as backup on the bench for Saturday's game?by redice - Hockey
Re: Wow!!!!!!! - 22 years ago
That was Sarah's sister, Emily last year. IIRC, Sarah skated at Lynah the first time, 7 years ago. At the end of her routine, I told my wife: "we're going to watch that girl in the Olympics someday." I didn't know how prophetic I could be. Congrats to the Hughes' family. What a moment!!by redice - Hockey
Re: Saluting the crowd - 22 years ago
There's a nice article about the Lynah Faithful in today's Ithaca Journal. Check it out at:by redice - Hockey
Re: To Hide Fish - 22 years ago
I have a better, abeit unpopular idea. Coach Schaefer ought to give the fish-throwers one, and only one, opportunity to grow up (i.e. stop throwing things on the ice). If that doesn't happen, put a net all the way around the ice. If that option is presented, I'll bet we'll see some very active self-policing of this problem.by redice - Hockey
Re: Letter to Harvard Coach - 22 years ago
Mike, Maybe it's time to show some real class and apologize to him. And don't forget to send copies to all parties who received the original note. Your original note was so arrogant that I doubt he'll read anything further with your name in the "from" field. But, it's worth a try. Please.by redice - Hockey
