Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Cornell at Union on TV and free webcast - 18 years ago
Thanks, Profudge. Uncle Joe's was going to be the first place I tried. Under the previous management (Ithaca Sports Club?), it was a no-brainer to go there for CU Hockey. I haven't heard anything about the place under the current management. Maybe I'll see you there.by redice - Hockey

Does anyone have any suggestions where this game will be on TV in any public places in Ithaca? Tnxby redice - Hockey
Re: Hockey at Fenway? - 18 years ago
Well said, Jim. Your note really sums up my love for the old Boston Garden. As I walked up that incline, I always felt that the season had been a success, with or without an ECAC title that weekend. I couldn't help but feeling a certain sadness when we left the Fleet Center after the 1998(?) Frozen Four, knowing that they would begin destruction of the Garden two days later. I'm glad I hadby redice - Hockey
PA Announcers - 18 years ago
I'm watching the tape of the Cornell at Colgate game. And, I couldn't help but notice the flamboyant PA announcer at Starr. Personally, I hate that style. And, hearing Starr's announcer makes me appreciate the more dignified sytle that the Lynah PA Announcers have exhibited over the years. How do others feel about that? If we someday have a Starr-like PA announcer, would that be a goodby redice - Hockey

The AHL All-Star Skills competition is on Fox Sports Net New England, DirecTV Ch. 620 right now. Ryan Vesce is participating.by redice - Hockey

I couldn't agree more!! As one of his biggest detractors, especially after that infamous play in Minnesota last April, I have to say that it's been a joy to watch his development.by redice - Hockey
Re: Sharks vs. Bruins on NESN at 7pm tonight, Jan. 10 - 18 years ago
6:30 to go in the first period and I haven't seen Doug Murray on the ice. Is he injured? Finally saw him on the ice....just as the Bruins scored their first goal. Damn.by redice - Hockey
Re: WJC on TV - 18 years ago
Tnx...No Sasha and I already know the final score of the game. I guess I should get on to other things. I hope others enjoy it. Sorry for repeating myselfby redice - Hockey

WJC on TV - 18 years ago
A delayed broadcast of the WJC title game (Canada-US) is now (1/2/06 12:30PM) on Fox Sports Ohio...DirecTV channel 638. Does anyone know what number Sasha is wearing? The names on the jerseys are very small & hard to read....And, the announcers only say the names of the US players.by redice - Hockey
Re: Everblades video webcasts... - 18 years ago
I wish I could say I had such a positive experience. When it was clear, early in the first period, that it just wasn't going to work for me, I wrote them an Email asking for a credit. All I received was an autoreply thanking me for my interest and providing suggestions to make it work. I don't know if I'll receive the credit (I'm not real worried about it). The webcast was a great idea...mby redice - Hockey

It looks like Doug will play his first NHL game in the same building as his last Cornell gameby redice - Hockey

Rich, Sam has a knee injury. I don't recall the exact nature of the injury. But, I think it was not real serious. He'll be back in the lineup soon. Yes, he is an assistant captain and a great "character" addition for the Jackals.by redice - Hockey
Re: We Have a New Sieve - 18 years ago
I cannot speak for the other, more "mature" folks, who sit in L, M, & N. But, I can say for myself that, as I age, my vocal chords do not tolerate the abuse of yelling loudly at hockey games. My ability to speak during the workday is a necesssity. So, disabling my voice by yelling at hockey games would be irresponsible. In my younger years, I supported CU Hockey, very vocalby redice - Hockey

"It takes place at Blarney Pub and Grill, in the heart of Dinkytown near the U of M campus." In a place named "Dinkytown," the expectations can't be very high!by redice - Hockey

Re: Cornell @ Yale Game thread - 18 years ago
Using Jason's link, WYBC now has two guys talking about Terrell Owens....That's a large step down from CU Hockey!! Has anyone found Yale audio anywhere else?by redice - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Yale Game thread - 18 years ago
Has anyone found an active link to the Yale audio? The AM WYBC link on the Yale Athletics website doesn't seem to work. Maybe it's just overloaded right now.by redice - Hockey
Re: So, who is going to start the Cornell Hockey Podcast - 18 years ago
That's a great question.. I presented that same question to the All-Access people. I explained to them that I would subscribe to their service if they began to offer hockey as podcasts. I got the usual "I'll pass along your thoughts."by redice - Hockey
Re: Moulson and Topher - Interview Tonight - 18 years ago
One of Matt's answers troubled me a bit. When the interviewer asked (paraphrasing) what gives this year's team a better chance (than last year's team) for a Nat'l Championship, there was a long pause followed by Matt saying: "that's a good question." I was expecting him to list all of the virtues of the 2005-06 team.by redice - Hockey
Re: Cornell 4 MSU 2 post game-1 thread - 18 years ago
Yep, that's the first game that we townies have come to en masse.....NOT!!! Plan ahead- traffic is a reality on game nights. Don't blame the townies. Accept responsibility for poor planning.by redice - Hockey
Re: PAYBACK - 18 years ago
Did I see a different game??? I saw a Cornell team that was hell-bent on coming back to win. And, they came within a bounce of the puck, several times, from accomplishing it. I'm disappointed with the second period collapse and the loss. But, I'm very proud of the way they rallied in the third period. They could have "folded" and didn't.by redice - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - Sept 2005 - 18 years ago
Sam Paolini signed with the Elmira Jackals of the UHL. The coach is projecting him as a first line player. It's a step down (from the AHL) for Sam....But, it's good news for those of us who fill in idle moments (between CU games) with Jackals' games. Good luck, Sam, it's going to be our pleasure to watch you play!!by redice - Hockey

Al DeFlorio Wrote: crodger1 Wrote: I don't understand that to include any live video. Sounds to me like a replacement to the Realplayer sportspass subscription thing they had for the radio audio feed last year. I think you're exactly right. Re: How big a loss is Shane? - 18 years ago
Shit!!!!! Now we have to hope that Raymond Sawada is ready to take his game to the next level. If so, he will slide into that first line nicely (leaving a hole on one of the other lines, of course).by redice - Hockey
CU-OSU on TV - 18 years ago
I know today is not the prototypical day for watching college hockey. However, if you're interested, the 2005 West Regional Semifinal game between CU & OSU will be shown at 5PM today (7/16) on ESPU DirecTV Ch. 609.by redice - Hockey

Alumni Game? - 18 years ago
Does anyone know if & when an alumni game will be played this summer. I believe the date of last year's game was July 16th. So, I expect it should be coming up soon. Tnx.by redice - Hockey
Re: [IIHF] Ice Hockey World Championships - 19 years ago
Maybe a Canadian satellite TV provider is the best answer. I looked at their channel lineup a few years ago. It looked to be very extensive. I don't know if they do legitimate business in the US. If not, I've seen people circumvent that little problem.by redice - Hockey
