marty BearLover arugula They always do and they generally underachieve. Time will tell but Donato can’t coach the talent he recruits. That was true 10 years ago but it’s not really true anymore. In the last 7 seasons Harvard has made the NCAAs 5 times and won the ECAC 3 times. Also, the talent on Harvard today is greater than what it was even just a few years ago. Harvard currently has moreby Scersk '97 - Hockey

Dafatone Scersk '97 3-on-3 overtime is unfathomably dumb. Agreed. 3v3 is cool. I'd watch a 3v3 league. But for OT, it just feels dumb. Shootouts are the only thing dumber. That game was a tie. Or a real overtime winner. I don’t care! Can we just get rid of this stupid, anti-climactic bullshit???!!!by Scersk '97 - Hockey

Trotsky Scersk '97The strange chauvinism that surrounds pizza is not something that I've ever understood. You understand it fine. People are thirsty, and parochialism serves their thirst. There is one exception to this. Harvard really does suck. I guess it's always a matter of degree. A mild, benign parochialism gives spice and variety to life; indeed, in no way do I want our cultby Scersk '97 - Hockey

scoop85 My son is a junior at Colgate, so I’ve been following their programs since he enrolled. On a Colgate sports forum where just a few folks post regularly, most are not big fans of Moore, primarily due to the decline in their football program. Last year their longtime coach Dan Hunt “resigned” under mysterious circumstances, and Moore immediately named Stan Dakosty, a Colgate grad and assistby Scersk '97 - Hockey

Weder Scersk '97 The strange chauvinism that surrounds pizza is not something that I've ever understood. There are different "pizzas," or whatever you want to call something made with sauce and cheese on top of dough, for different applications, and there are many styles that are great in their own right. Yikes!by Scersk '97 - Hockey

Yep, we had another great chance off the corner, then SU with a great individual effort on the counter to take a 1-0 lead. We have 6 minutes to try to extend the season. Very close one. My only beef with Cornell's play was a lot of wasted throw-ins. Once agaiby Scersk '97 - Other Sports

Re: Men's Soccer 2022 - 1 year ago
Looks like a distinctly uncomfortable day. Syracuse had the run of play in the first part of the first half, but Cornell started serving some balls in behind their defense in the latter part. Shots 7–3 'Cuse. Cornell has had two corners, and, although nothing really came of them, corners on a day like this are enormously dangerous. If I were the Cornell coach, I might try to encourage playersby Scersk '97 - Other Sports

Iceberg Cornell looked like the quicker, stronger team all night. I don't know if UConn had an off night or what but they could barely generate anything and looked horrendous in the neutral zone in particular. Definitely a few skilled players up front but they were very neutralized and Shane didn't really have too many difficult saves. Suda, in a positive sense, stuck out to me again. ugarte Bancroft my new fave. Goddamn that was pretty and the finish from Mack was... I'm not particularly sure why Berard (LW), Psenicka (C), and Bancroft (RW) aren't together yet. Berard is having a problem getting hit when open, and Bancroft and Psenicka are good at that. I also think Bancroft and Psenicka will feed off each other. Let Stienburg figure out whatever's holding him back this seby Scersk '97 - Hockey

Trotsky blackwidow, to be fair you wouldn't know this, but one reason your remarks have been regarded unseriously is they are almost verbatim what we have relitigated a thousand times among ourselves over the last 20 years, here and on the predecessor forums going all the way back to hockey-l. And even in those bygone days the topics were cliche. It isn't so much you are being ignored. It'sby Scersk '97 - Hockey
Re: Brown @ Cornell, 11/19/2022 - 1 year ago
arugula True. They were all more visible last night. Berard in particular. Agreed on Berard. Malinski even made a few "Malinski passes," i.e. passes from the point heading just wide of the net directed at a player on the backdoor side with his stick on the ice. Bancroft's behind the back pass was creativity that I haven't seen in some time. If they're blocking all the typical waysby Scersk '97 - Hockey

Band’s in New York today, so it’s probably a skeleton pep band. Doesn’t justify piped in crap, because what’s wrong with just letting people cheer or talk? But that’s probably what’s going on. I heard no piped-in yesterday when the band was better in attendance.by Scersk '97 - Hockey
Re: Opponents and Others, 2022-23 - 1 year ago
TrotskyIt's probably pretty hard to fuck up at Cornell, Harvard, and Clarkson, although some have worked at it. "Paging Brian McCutcheon and George Roll! Paging Mr. McCutcheon and Mr. Roll!" Both lost control of their teams, i.e., the players just weren't willing to play for them anymore; they lost the plot. Trotsky Berard becoming invisible is such a difference from the first half of last year. Berard is mostly invisible. Malinski is just not the same player he has ever been. He’s awful, not hustling, and can’t get the puck through traffic. I’m glad we began to wake up at the end. We can’t spot a team two easy goals like we did.by Scersk '97 - Hockey
