Re: Cornell football 2023 - 7 months ago
Just got home from the game. When we blitzed, and it wasn't often, we put some decent heat on the Lehigh QB. When we dropped back in a prevent defense, we gave him all day to find receivers in the seams. Which he did. One other thing I noticed: Whenever we ran any kind of screen, toss, or sweep it went to the short side. Always. Usually we opened every drive with an attempt to runby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Other Sports

George64 Chris '03 Trotsky That is fucking awesome. After 40 years, Cornell appears to have gotten somebody to do their comms who is under the age of 87. Now please, murder #yellcornell in its sleep and bury it in a shallow grave in Mecklenburg. It feels so there's been a tone shift this year from athletics. First full year from Nicki Moore. Will be curious to see what else evolves. Alsby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Chris '03 Trotsky You're gonna make me hope. I had accepted that Huggy Bear was as irreparable a part of the Creeping Meatballism of the last 70 years of Cornell's aestethic and spiritual cratering as the death of the elms. It is too much to ask for the return of Domestic Abuser Bear. Condescending bear leaning on block C forever. Huggy Bear never. +1by Jeff Hopkins '82 - Hockey

Trotsky Roy 82 Impractical due to the fact that the Ivy League is not in the Premier League of American Collegiate Football. We can get back into BCS now. After all, the original academic index came from Dartmouth. I for one welcome the Ivies upcoming interlocking schedule with the SEC. dag14 Beeeej dag14 How do you people remember this stuff? I am not sure what I had for breakfast this morning. Well, it helps to have seen the absurdity in person. But once you read Bill's summary from the late, lamented Hockey-L, you'll remember it forever, too. Re: Lacrosse Final Four 2023 - 11 months ago
Swampy Al DeFlorio billhoward 2 teams wishing OT was not sudden death. Too much weight to the team with the better FOGO. Ridiculous OT format for a sport where a goal every 2-2.5 minutes is the norm. Agree, but the problem is how to make 2, 3, 4, or more OT periods more unlikely. Team 1 is given possession (based on a coin toss - no faceoff). If they score, team 2 gets possession. Roy 82 TimV billhoward French Rage shafer Dafatone I just want to hear a few players sing the East Hill Car Wash jingle on whcu. Is that so wrong? RichH Trotsky billhoward What is a "big screen" these days? I've got a 65-inch plasma (last year of production at Panasonic, best TV ever circa 2015) and I'm starting to think 85 inches means big. Costco has some at the $2,000 level. LG just announced a 100-inch OLED G3, G3 clarifying that it's Gulfstream-level pricing, around $25,000. For the guillotine set. mike1960 upprdeck Su scored to go up 12-11 then scored again to go up 13-11. Except the ref made a call on a ball everyone thought was a goal and as SU was stunned, ND ran back and scored won like the next 8 faceoffs SU barely got the ball again and got rolled. After the game the reds claimed that a save was made and the ball was then carried into the goal by the goalie and thats allowed?? Nby Jeff Hopkins '82 - Other Sports
