Re: Colgate vs. Cornell home-and-home 1/19-20 - 6 years ago
Swampy snert1288 Matt Galajda with back to back shut outs and a scoreless streak just over 160 minutes (and counting). Very impressive for this freshman against a good Colgate team. The wins are most important but I love the sense of quality goaltending continuing in to our future. I believe he just tied David McKee's record of six shutouts for a freshman. Tradition! CHN app says he has foby JasonN95 - Hockey

Direct link to Saturday’s game highlights: After watching that I’m a bit more appreciative of the camera work/level of zoom on Cornell home games.by JasonN95 - Hockey
Re: Opponents News - 6 years ago
Jim Hyla With the win Clarkson ties for first in PWR. And Harvard is 47th!?!? Also catching my eye: Dartmouth has only played six games so far.by JasonN95 - Hockey

Re: What's the loudest moment you've experienced at Lynah - 6 years ago
Beeeej I apparently said this in 2002: The most beautiful goal off a faceoff that I've ever seen at Lynah was from a face-off on the student side. Nov. 8, 1997, we were down 3-1 ... Now that it's been thirty years, I would have to say that this Saturday night's game-winner came pretty damn close. This is the game I think of when I think of loud. Re: Cornell vs Union @ Lake Placid 03/17/17 - 7 years ago
How was the Lake Placid crowd? Certainly looked fuller on tv than the Joe for the Big 10 tournament.by JasonN95 - Hockey

jkahn Tonight's Schedule for Teams Right Below Us in PWR UMass @ Providence Wisconsin @ Penn St. Col. Coll. @ St. Cloud Mich. St. @ Ohio St. No. Dakota @ Miami Denver @ UNO Maine @ Vermont I assume Cornell would generally benefit from the bolded teams losing, except maybe the Wisc & Penn St matchup?by JasonN95 - Hockey

And now Cornell has moved to 11th passing Union with its loss to Harvard.by JasonN95 - Hockey

Re: Tonight's game v. Penn State - 9 years ago
HeafDog Looked like a bad call when the refs whistled the play dead in the third when they ruled that Mitch had covered up (assuming I'm not mistaken and that was in fact the call). That saved us, because the rebound came out to a dangerous spot, and PSU had every right to be pissy. Eh, after that five minute interference call that, to me, looked like both players skated to the same spot and CUby JasonN95 - Hockey
Re: NCAA lax - Cornell-Maryland odds of winning - 10 years ago
So Cornell needs to roll a critical hit on a d20. I didn't think they'd get in to the tourney, so I'll take that. Supposedly Harvard was the last team to make the field. I guess this means the Ivy tournament worked this year as I presume the additional win and loss against strong opponents was a net gain for Harvard. Or do people think their fate wasn't altered by those two games?by JasonN95 - Other Sports
Re: Favorite Harvard Game Memory - 10 years ago
Larry72 Beeeej First of all, you should probably know that the first Cornell-Harvard men's hockey game was in 1910, regardless of when the programs each started playing. Harvard beat us 5-0 at St. Nicholas Rink in New York City. In no particular order: It's worth mentioning that the context of the 2003 ECAC title game was one of the factors that made it so special. ugarte ugarte Cornell shuts out Penn 32-0 and dominates Princeton 36-7. No losses against Penn but 4 pins vs. Princeton. Correction: Penn was docked a point for some shenanigans from their bench, so actual final score 32 - (-1) Wow, it wasn't that many years ago (or was it? time flies...) when Cornell v Penn duals were tight affairs. Re: Cornell-Maryland NCAA lax 2013 - 10 years ago
It certainly seems that Pannell has been letting it all hang out the last few games, as he remarked after the first game against Princeton. As others had commented on during the season, it seemed like he was previously holding back or, worse, had lost a step.by JasonN95 - Other Sports

BearLover This is one case when it's okay to root for Yale Yes, although another win for Yale puts them dangerously close to fluke win of lacrosse national championship to go with hockey, at which point my head explodes.by JasonN95 - Other Sports
Re: New Rules? - 10 years ago
Seems like a rule of this sort would be more fodder for the Canadian leagues to use to convince players with NHL aspirations to skip the college route.by JasonN95 - Hockey

Re: Should He Stay or Should He Go - 11 years ago
Beeeej KeithK Ben Given that the university will not do this, and the financial and personal investment I and others (including the university) make in Cornell sports, I want our sports teams to win games and titles -- I want a return on my investment. That comes in the form of on-field success (without off-field unpleasantness). For me, return on investment is all of the memorable experiences Iby JasonN95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Dartmouth Lax - 11 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82 According to Inside Lax, it's 17-4 after 3. Edit: Now 21-4. If it weren't for the "4", it sounds like a football score. FWIW, I've never seen us score over 20 before, either. Is a tiebreaker for the Ivy tourney seeding total goals or goal differential? If so, I think you should keep the pedal to the metal in league games. Kyle Rose Jordan 04 jtn27 Trotsky Kyle RoseThis is not rocket science: as Yale has shown, this is a solved problem. This is really the heart of the situation. The remaining question is whether RedCast (and perhaps, by extension, Cornell) is stupid, crazy or malevolent. Stupid: They are doing the best they can, they're just incompetent. Crazy: They sincerely don't know they suck; they actby JasonN95 - Hockey
