Re: Cornell vs. Notre Dame - 13 years ago
So is anyone else having a hard time enjoying this upcoming game because they are petrified that UMd will hire away Coach T after the season concludes? Or is it just me? I'd like to think that Cornell lax is a good enough gig and that he has an enjoyable enough situation that he wouldn't be lured away, even to an UMd type opportunity, but who knows...by JasonN95 - Other Sports

Re: Only a "home run" offer takes Donahue away - 14 years ago
Trotsky A BC blog on Donahue. Interesting that Foote and Dale are given as examples of Donahue's strong recruiting. From what I've read, they both fell into his lap, so-to-speak. (Not sure about Wittman, to other example.)by JasonN95 - Other Sports
Re: Buh-bye, seniors - 14 years ago
ajh, I think Cornell's excellent defense is in large part due to the calculating way the offense is run. The team puts a priority on keeping the puck in the offensive zone and waits for its scoring opportunities; if there isn't one, the team doesn't try to force the puck on net or take a bad shot, it puts it back down low and works the other team over while trying to create a chance and all the wby JasonN95 - Hockey

ugarte Robb dag14 While I obviously don't have data to support this, I wonder whether it is completely fair to vilify UK basketball based on the results of this study. WHY don't their players graduate? As an example, if you have 10 players in a recruiting class and 2 transfer because of lack of playing time and 3 leave early for the NBA, that reduces your graduation rate to 50%. If 2 out oby JasonN95 - Other Sports

Re: USCHO Picks Union - 14 years ago
Beeeej Brian Sullivan picks Union over Cornell in the title game. I loved his explanation for his pick of Cornell over Brown in the semis: I really, really like Brown. The Bears play with heart, they play all-out hockey, and I really hope that they're teaching opponents a thing or two about desire along the way. That said, in the interests of picking with my mind and not my heart, I have toby JasonN95 - Hockey

Re: Harvard 0 at Cornell 3 Game 2 Postgame - news clips - 14 years ago
Al DeFlorio billhoward Yale Daily News reported on the Bulldogs' three-game loss to Brown. With this quote from Keith Allain: “I thought we showed great discipline getting through the hooks, the holes , the hacks, the whacks that were allowed to go on in the slot area in front of their net.” You'd think he was an SLU grad. Hmmm, usually the game archive file is up on Redcast in a day or two, but still no file for this. Were there any problems with broadcast? If not, I'll just chalk it up to a longer than usual turn around.by JasonN95 - Other Sports
Re: Pre-Harvard Info - 14 years ago
Rita Jordan 04 What exactly is the AD's reasoning behind not offering video of home quarterfinals game as part of the Redcast package? I'd love to hear it. This one we cannot pin on Andy and the Cornell Athletic Department (at least not directly**) . This one is on Steve Hagwell ECAC commissioner. This is the ECAC's money grab and have contracted video rights to the ECAC quarterfinals and chaby JasonN95 - Hockey

cu722001 Don't we have a couple of games before Albany? This sounds uncomfortably like the chatter on the NY Giants board before they played the Saints. "What happens (not if we beat them, or lose to them) if we beat them real bad?" Counting chickens is the main cause of eggs not hatching. Re: Lax opener vs. Hobart (W10-7) - 14 years ago
scoop85 "Ketch" on Laxpower is bemoaning Hobart's loss to a "completely ho-hum" Cornell team. I admittedly haven't been following lacrosse during the offseason (the NC loss still haunts me and I find that I'm just easing myself back into lax now that Cornell has gotten underway), but unless Hobart's outlook has materially improved over its last few seasons, it dreams of reacby JasonN95 - Other Sports

29.0 The website has a very nice, downloadable sign for Colin imploring any and all who read it to text their vote for him. Seems like an enterprising individual (before you ask, I'm not enterprising) who will be at this weekend's games could print out a few, tape them up in a few strategic places in Lynah and inspire some of the fans with unlimited texting plans to use their free time duringby JasonN95 - Hockey

Trotsky Scersk '97 Dpperk29 Trotsky 4 point weekend for Clarkson against decent opponents, while SLU takes just 1 point of 4 at home. Even blind squirrels find nuts once and awhile. And even injured squirrels eventually get healthy. I see you have your defense back.I bet most injured squirrels never get healthy again. Nature's a bitch.
