Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: 2019-12-06: Cornell 3 Harvard 1 - 4 years ago
Trotsky .... Thompson will be interesting. A team on a roll can start to generate a lot of buzz. Typically only a sliver of the fans who go to Bright go up to Hanover. Maybe this year we'll see more. I hope so. It's actually a really fun trip, and Dartmouth is pretty. I thought I’d “scout” Dartmouth last night by watching some of the replay of the Colgate v Dartmouth game. Re: 2019-12-06: Cornell 3 Harvard 1 - 4 years ago
The announcers for the ESPN+ feed were impressed with Cornell’s fans mentioning a few times how well they travelled and made their presence at Bright felt. For anyone who was there: About what percentage of the crowd would you say was Cornell fans?by JasonN95 - Hockey

Roy 82 I give up. I can sign into my workspace and see a list of my workspace options. I can't access elynah directly form the link above nor indirectly form my workspace. I seem to be going in circles myself. Oh well.by JasonN95 - Hockey
Re: Polls 2019-20 - 4 years ago
Tom Lento I think whoever said the OOC records will likely even out over the holidays is right. My baseline expectation is the league will be pretty similar to where it was last year overall, when ECAC teams went .481 in inter-conference play. Right now it looks awful though - .381 to date. :/ On a related note, Cornell has the 51st ranked schedule strength in KRACH, and it's so terrible larby JasonN95 - Hockey

French Rage .... Though some would argue our first game against them in 2002 should have been a shutout: , That was fun stroll down memory lane. I was fortunate enough to make it back to Lynah for those two games. I don't think I had a more enjoyable weekend of games at Lynah, coming out of those games elated thinking that Cornell could again be a top tier Div I team. There was a great quby JasonN95 - Hockey
Re: MSG: Red Hot Hockey NEWS - 4 years ago
For lack of a better place to put this, I’ll add it here: This weekend was a bloodbath for the league. 2-8-1 in non-conference games versus non-conference foes by my count (the other win was Q over UMass Amherst).by JasonN95 - Hockey

Mark The Hockey gods may be nuthin to F with, but like Adam, you completely misread the intention of my post. ... Not to speak for others but as someone whose been on this board for pretty much its entire life I’ll just say that the Hockey Gods, jinx, reverse-jinx etc are bandied about here with tongue firmly in cheek and I think the replies you saw were meant as goodnatured ribbing/jokes prby JasonN95 - Hockey

jeff '84 upprdeck still no plans for tv at this time Noticed this when I was accessing the CU/Navy basketball game. So possibly here? Thanks. There’s an app, but apparently it can’t stream the service’s premium content (at least on iOS) which I assume the MSG game will be, so you need to use its web browser interface.by JasonN95 - Hockey
Re: Polls 2019-20 - 4 years ago
Swampy In a way it's Harvard's own fault. So far, all 6 of its games have been ECAC. Q (2-3-1, 6-6-1) is the highest-ranked team it's played. Dartmouth currently #16 per CHN’s PWR rating, who Harvard beat in their first game. (I know, ranking vs rating.)by JasonN95 - Hockey
Re: MSG: Red Hot Hockey - 4 years ago
ESPN+ does not have the game on the calendar, but am I remembering correctly that it was picked up for streaming last year? Anyone know what is planned this year?by JasonN95 - Hockey
Re: Polls 2019-20 - 4 years ago
andyw2100 Anyone think we may move to first place in one or both polls this week as a result of beating stronger teams than the team Minnesota State beat twice? Too many votes would need to flip for the USCHO poll so I say no for that. For USA Today I’m going to say yes, but that’s a bit of wishful thinking. Minn St crushed Anchorage Friday and handled them easily on Saturday, with more than twby JasonN95 - Hockey

It was great to see that Galajda could deliver a blue chip performance when the team needed it. Not a lot of saves but some were stellar. Now let’s not have to see that again. Who would have thought the team would be 7-0 and Galajda would not have a shutout.by JasonN95 - Hockey

Minnesota State hosts AK-Anchorage for two games this upcoming weekend so not likely to give an opening to another team to slip into first in the next poll.by JasonN95 - Hockey

Per CHN: Cornell is 2nd for goals scored per game. 5th for goals against per game. 2nd for power play percentage. And has three of the top five goals per game scorers. Fun with small sample sizes.by JasonN95 - Hockey

Re: Bracketology 2019 - 5 years ago
CU2007 So Harvard is in right? 4 ECAC teams guaranteed. What is the scenario for union to get in? NE, ND, Minn St wins??? Looks like Harvard is in and Union is out. The team that is sweating today’s results that can’t punch its own ticket is Providence.by JasonN95 - Hockey
Re: Bracketology 2019 - 5 years ago
RichH I'm rooting for the scenarios where Union gets an at-large bid, considering some of their players have already signed pro contracts. Luckily, this requires us winning tomorrow. Northeastern has to win to get there as well. Well, that would be hilarious. Do any of those scenarios result in 5 ECAC teams in?by JasonN95 - Hockey
