Re: NCAA lacrosse tournament seedings, brackets, etc. - 12 years ago
was really hoping for an earlier game time in Ithaca chances of me finding a bar anywhere in MA that will put a lacrosse game on one TV on a Saturday night when the RedSox/Yankees series is also being televised? somewhere between zero and nilby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: CU-PU Lacrosse - 13 years ago
Did Princeton really just let Pannell run an iso bball inbounds stack out of that timeout? ??by Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: CU-PU Lacrosse - 13 years ago
West looking very good in relief A real luxury having depth at goalie Like his effort backing up the shot to the end line But maybe skip the dive, don't want am injury!by Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: CU-PU Lacrosse - 13 years ago
It really has been the goalie difference so far Fiorito has been a brickwall, and while Cornells shot selection could be better he has made a ton of good saves we have been shhoting low, probably based on a scouting report when we have scored it has been high, we might need to change it up He started out with 6 saves on 7 SoG And ended the half with 12/16by Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: CU-PU Lacrosse - 13 years ago
Both goalies are unconscious just AJ in a bad way and Fiorito in a good wayby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: CU-PU Lacrosse BOSTON Metro viewing - 13 years ago
While they never know the numbers for the channels (and I cant remember them either) I have always had good success in watching the games at Fireflys out in Framingham Will likely be there tomorrow for a late lunch, and with the Celtics off, Red Sox playing at 7pm and Bruins not starting till 3pm... my guess is I will be able to get it on a decent sized screen at the bar the bbq isnt bad eitby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: CU - Va Lax - 13 years ago
I am certainly no lax expert and only saw the 2nd half But there was some encouraging play there and I think plenty of potential there (which is a CU coaching staff strength in developing) obviously way too many EMOs for UVA in the 3rd period and major issues at the X The challenge is going to be, looking at a stiff Ivy League schedule and SU and Stonybrook as the remaining non-conferenceby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Recruits - 13 years ago
I think we can all agree that there are still some gaping holes in the current recruiting class Where are the brothers (twins preferably) !!?!!!?? Did someone not get the memo that the Devins are graduating?by Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: Only a "home run" offer takes Donahue away - 13 years ago
I have a couple friends who are professional musicians here in Boston They make a solid living at it (50K?) but certainly are not selling out venues muc less full blown stadium tours They have a tax person that specializes in dealing with all the hurdles, multistate returns, lots of reimbursements, per diems, etc Sounds like a total nigmareby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell 3 UAH 1 - 13 years ago
With the disclaimer that I dont follow much hockey at the NHL level and mostly just track Cornell now from afar (be at Lynah Easy in the Spring though) I wonder how much of the talent issue is financial aid related. Certainly it can limit the pool of potential players, but I would think the academic rigor (and entrance requirements) would have a lot more impact on recruiting. I also wonder hby Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: CU at Harvard tickets on sale today - 13 years ago
myself and another friend just picked up blocks in Section 8 (straight across from the pep band, not to self, bring ear plugs)by Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: CU at Harvard tickets on sale today - 13 years ago
I even checked the Harvard website the first week of August to see if they had updated it Was still showing the 2009/2010 schedule and no mention of 2010/2011 tickets being released Check back 10days later and totally sold out Hopefully I will be able to score tickets from the CCoB when they sell their block (weird game time this year too, Saturday 4pm)by Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: Lax Cornell 11 Loyola 10 (3 OT) NCAA 1st round - 13 years ago
has the coach considered not taking the team to the locker room during halftime? I mean maybe he could just huddle them on the sideline and pretend it is still the transition between the first and second quarters =Pby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell vs Harvard Tickets @ Harvard on sale Sept 24, 10:00am - 15 years ago
Am I the only one who hasnt received their tickets? I have been having some doubts about my postal service anyways, but heading in to Christmas I was getting nervous that they hadnt come, and now seeing that some people got them more than a week ago has me on edge Will call the ticket office in the morning...by Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ North Dakota 11/28 Post-Game - 15 years ago
from the TV coverage (I didnt have audio, apparently sports bars are doing Friday night Karaoke these days?)... you wouldnt have known there was a single Cornell fan, or even anyone wearing something redby Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: Hahvahd 3 @ Cornell 1 Postgame - 16 years ago
Just scanning the box score I am shocked that it appears we were 50/50 at the faceoff circle, over the game. Would love to see a breakdown by period... Dufault absolutely killed us in the 3rd at the faceoff (not to mention the goals)by Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: BU Postgame - 16 years ago
As someone who never played hockey... I am curious how much of the defense and goalie issue might be a communication problem. The closest sport I played to hockey was soccer, I know the goalie there can be very vocal or leave the 'quarterbacking' to the sweeper. Given that Scrivens likes to wander a bit at times to play the puck, my guess is that he would have to be VERY vocal for this to workby Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - More Descriptive Subjects? - 16 years ago
Can I offer a suggestion that it may be worthwhile to edit the subject line in long threads like this? Really interesting stuff, but by the end of the month these get really long and if I am skimming to catch up it would be nice to know where the break news items (Moulson scores first NHL goal!) were compared to the more mundane thanks! Re: Cornell vs. Princeton pre-game - video okay, audio sucks - 16 years ago
also nice to not be locked into Windows the FAQ only speaks to Windows/Mac... but the feed came right up on my Ubuntu Linux box using the default Totem plugin (which probably isnt the best but is working for now)by Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: Other ECAC scores 10/13 - 16 years ago
The french word for sieve is 'tamis' but I dont know if that would make any more sense... maybe if you translated the whole "You're not a..." cheer and did it early in the game? then again it would be funny just to sheer SIEVE with a heavy Pink Panther accent (2 syllables with the emphasis on the end vowel sound?)by Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell/BU Thanksgiving (11/24) - TV INFO - 16 years ago
Just an FYI, according to the Hockey East website... this game is supposed to be on CSTV at 8PM (LIVE) For everyone who is outside traveling distance, tied up in Thanksgiving weekend plans or too poor to buy tickets, at least you will be able to see the game. Lets Go Red!by Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell section at MSGarden? - 16 years ago
Anyone have insight as to whether this game might be televised in some fashion? Looking like I might not be able to attend in person, but the next best thing would be to catch it on cableby Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: 2007-2008 Schedule released - 16 years ago
For those of you who have circled the game at Lynah East on 11/16... Currently the Harvard website shows single game tickets going on sale October 3rd at 10am (but the web sales page shows 10/03 at 12:00AM, keep an eye on it if you want to be sure to call the moment they are available (seems like the date on the website changed a few years ago too, so you might want to double check in a few weekby Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell Football Starts Practice - 16 years ago
If someone wants to see a half full Crescent (not even going for a full Crescent), maybe the athletics department should take a basic economics course and figured out something about supply and demand. I wouldnt (regularly) pay $10 for a 1A football game myself, much less if I had a family of 4 and needed tickets for everyone. It looks like you cant get into the Dome for less than $35 these daysby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell/Albany - where2watch - 16 years ago
Just an FYI that I went to Union Street in Newton last Saturday and didn't receive a very warm welcome. The Red Sox were playing (this week the Red Sox game is on at 7pm so no conflict) and the bar had maybe 20 people... all the screens were on the Red Sox and apparently they are not on independant boxes (changing a TV to lax would change some of the other ones as well) There was no chance to hby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Staus of Gradinger? - 16 years ago
Looked like he hurt his knee in the 3rd. I was watching the game in Red Sox land and couldnt get the audio bumped up. Did he return later in the game? Any comment on the broadcast of what happenned?by Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Boston? - 16 years ago
There is about a 50/50 chance I will be at the Sports Depot in Allston The game (ESPNU) will certainly be on, but all you are likely to hear is the Red Sox on NESN (starts at 1:30pm) Unfortunately because of my uncertainty on being free, I cant arrange anything to make sure we could hear the game (they have at least one large private room, doubtful they would want to open it up for less thanby Cornell95 - Other Sports
Re: Recruiting - 17 years ago
We can all be routing for a win in that recruiting battle, but when I think of recruiting classes, they are framed around both signing year and expected graduation date... I am glad for any Cornell players that are able to jump early, but also nostalgic for the days when college players stayed 4 years and got a degree. I am sure the coaching staff is fighting to get Riley Nash, but every time yoby Cornell95 - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Harvard postgame - 17 years ago
way behind on chiming in... but I will add a few observations nice to see the Cornell fans in force as always, early on I would have guessed more than 50% Cornell fans, but the sections behind the Harvard bench did fill up after the 2nd period started I was directly behind the Harvard goal (periods 1&3) and Cornell had 4-5 great quality chances early in the 1st. I dont know where the oby Cornell95 - Hockey
Beanpot starts tonight (Monday 2/5) - 17 years ago
Surprised it hasnt already been posted Games tonight are a 5pm Northeastern/BU and the 8pm Sucks/BC Broadcast on NESN for those of you in the Northeast or with really good cable packages. To be honest I havent really been staying on top of any of these teams... I know BC beat BU about a week ago 5-2by Cornell95 - Hockey
