Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: BC board - 21 years ago
My brother-in-law is a BC grad and he warned me about the board talking smack about Cornell. He used to go on the board and deliberately be negative about BC sports just to agitate all the homers. (Of course, nothing compares to the level of homerism that the Syracuse lax board achieves...)by jason - Hockey
Re: WTF??? - 21 years ago
At this moment, the front page of ESPN's college page has a picture of Lenny and a bunch of links to articles about the NCAA tourney, including one highlighting how Cornell did not get rewarded for its no. 1 overall rating:by jason - Hockey
Re: PEPSI Arena Tickets - 21 years ago
Does anyone know if the benches are on the sections 103-107 side or the 118-122 side of the arena?by jason - Hockey
Re: Friday Webcam - 21 years ago
Are people able to connect? Mine just says "connecting" and nothing happens. EDIT: Nevermind, problem fixed. Post Edited (03-14-03 19:13)by jason - Hockey

Re: Pretty Pics: old UNH, Brown, CC, and Maine logos wanted - 21 years ago
Will do. The UNH logo I have predates the current stylized/cartoon wildcat logos. It has an anatomically faithful wildcat face in front of the letters UNH. That's probably the one you're describing as not seeking, but I'll send you that one, too, just in case. For Harvard, I kind of like the pilgrim face in profile logo that they have (not sure if that's new or old). Post Edited (03-14-0by jason - Hockey
hockey pins - 21 years ago
I can't imagine that these pins are still for sale, but if they are someone might be interested:by jason - Hockey
Re: Pretty Pics: old UNH, Brown, CC, and Maine logos wanted - 21 years ago
Greg, I have every (or near to) Big 4 school's logo (for the most part, their athletics logo, but not in all cases) --they were downloaded in Dec '96 (not sure why I did it, I'm sure I had a reason). I don't think I have the exact designs you're looking for for those four schools, but the ones I have may be alternatives to what you've found. And I do have some ones that have been scrapped (Yaleby jason - Hockey
Re: No. 1 Section @ Pepsi - 21 years ago
If Cornell makes it to Albany, obviously they'll be the highest seed. Does that put them in the first game or second game on Friday? (And why Fri-Sat? Sat-Sun would be so much easier to get to.)by jason - Hockey
Re: RPI and RPI & PWR - 21 years ago
For the sportsbook uninitiated, could someone explain the columns of numbers? (E.g., why does it say that BC vs BU is even yet it looks like someone is giving the other a half goal, but then Bemidji is 3:1 favorites over Findlay with the same half goal difference?)by jason - Hockey
Re: And then there were 58 -- Iona folding too - 21 years ago
Good thing the tourney expansion was pushed through last year...by jason - Hockey
Re: RPI voodoo over Onion, sets them up for RIP at Lynah! - 21 years ago
Well, it may be too late and I'm not sure if I can take Friday off, but if I could swing it, does anyone know what the RPI ticket office ph# is? I visited the RPI athletics website but the ticket office ph# appears to be a closely guarded secret.by jason - Hockey
Re: USCHO - 21 years ago
No. I'm not having any luck (~12:30am, EST) and I'm really curious to see what people are saying about the two SHG in the Union-RPI game.by jason - Hockey
Re: on ice accident - 21 years ago
The USCHO article says that Eaves will have to serve a 5 game suspension for his third DQ. Shouldn't that be 6 games? 3+2+1=6, isn't that the method for determining length of suspension?by jason - Hockey
Re: TBRW Statistical Reflections on the 2003 RS - 21 years ago
And until Colgate spoiled it, Cornell had won every home game by at least a 3 goal spread. The home numbers are truly incredible: in 13 games, 61 GF and 12 goals against, and that's excluding the 9-1 thumping put on York in the exhibition. The season ticket holders definitely got their money's worth.by jason - Hockey
Re: CCM Cornell hockey cap - 21 years ago
From CCM's website: We do have a CCM Custom Apparel and Cap Program. If you visit your local CCM dealer they can fill you in the on the details of the many options available along with the minimum quantities required. And according to the site, both Dick's and Klein's in Ithaca are CCM dealers.by jason - Hockey
Re: CCM Cornell hockey cap - 21 years ago
The Cornell CCM caps I have I ordered years ago, haven't seen any since. When I played on NYU's club team, we ordered CCM caps for the team from some hockey shop at a rink in CT, unfortunately I don't recall the name. Assuming that someone could track down a hockey shop that processes these orders, the questions would be: What is the minimum quantity that has to be ordered? How do we get past theby jason - Hockey
Re: USCHO Poll, 2/24 - 21 years ago
A transfer of two first place votes from Cornell to CC. I guess that CC win over the US Under 18 team was more impressive than I thought.by jason - Hockey
hockey only conference - 21 years ago
Wodon has a new article/editorial up at USCHO.com regarding whether the ECAC schools should break away from the ECAC and form a new, hockey only conference a la the other Big Four. (BTW, Adam, I thought the article was quite good.)by jason - Hockey
Re: ECAC RS Games at Lynah, by Year - 21 years ago
Robb, I feel your pain (I'm class of '95, it doesn't get worse than that). How'd you see 22 losses, am I reading the chart wrong?by jason - Hockey
Re: Vermont 0 @ Cornell 7 - 3rd period - 21 years ago
Greg. you sure about this being Hornby's 2nd? There was some debate about that on the chat tonight. Some thought he had a game misconduct earlier in the season, not a DQ.by jason - Hockey
Re: "This Week in ECAC Hockey" - 21 years ago
Last night I scanned the tv listing on my Tivo in an attempt to set it to record the program and it did show up at all (and I scanned through the upcoming two weeks). EDIT: that should have been "did not show up"by jason - Hockey
Re: OT: TV - 21 years ago
crodge, it would stop at 10:30. If you want to protect against missing the game's end, use the extend record time past show's end feature to add extra time (recommended any time you are recording sports).by jason - Hockey
Re: Princeton Game - anyone going to New Jersey? - 21 years ago
I plan to be there with my wife (fellow Cornellian). Josh, same thing with my father; he's been a Cornell hockey fan for years now ever since he saw some games with me at Lynah.by jason - Hockey

CNNSI has a decent scoreboard page that refreshes itself every few minutes.by jason - Hockey
Re: Vesce ECAC Player of the Week - 21 years ago
In case folks missed it, Vesce received honorable mention for USCHO offensive player of the week.by jason - Hockey
Re: Televised Games - 21 years ago
The regular season ECAC games listed as airing on NESN, didn't those get scrapped after the YES package was announced or are they still going to be shown?by jason - Hockey
Re: It's your site, Age, but what the fudge? - 21 years ago
Agreed about McMeekin, based on what I saw last year he was the biggest loss going into this season, bigger than Undy.by jason - Hockey
Re: hockey fund raiser - 21 years ago
Somewhat getting away from the point of this thread... This not allowing dept money to be spent on recruiting (assuming R is correct) by the Ivy League strikes me as a pointless restriction. What evil is being guarded against by this? By not reaching out the schools somehow end up with only the "true" student-athletes? I don't see that. I'm almost afraid to voice this next comment for fby jason - Hockey
