Re: Hobey 2004 - 20 years ago
Given his inclusion in the Hobey watch, it's odd that Vesce doesn't appear anywhere in this other INCH effort: He's the only one from the Hobey list (other than Ohio St's R.J. Umberger who has since left school) that didn't get included. I guess different authors were behind the two articles.by jason - Hockey
Re: No kids in Lynah? - 20 years ago
I can't say I agree with this. Not letting them in for free, especially if their butt takes up a seat, is acceptable. Feel free to charge me some reduced price for bringing my baby in to the game even if she's strapped to my chest. But there just isn't enough danger present for me to feel it is proper for them say it is absolutely unreasonable for a parent to bring a baby so we need to usurp pareby jason - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line Procedures - 20 years ago
Yeah, that's my letter. Upon reflection, it comes across a little too dramatic particularly in its condensed form (I told the editors that they could do that, so I have no complaints). I think what disappoints me the most is that people --from the same community and with the same interests even-- cannot be entrusted with treating each other fairly and must be policed. Maybe there's a little romaby jason - Hockey
Re: Ticket Line Procedures - 20 years ago
I agree with Jeff. To paraphrase part of my letter to the Sun editor that I just sent about your article: the kid with the rope who made the plea to the line stuck his neck out and tried to do the right thing, you publicly belittled him, and the Sun for some unfathomable reason publishes your piece --that's disgusting.by jason - Hockey
Re: EXTRA HOCKEY TICKETS IN SECTION B - 20 years ago
Some Guy, there seems to be a strong connection for you between attending Cornell hockey and getting "crazy drunk" (I think that’s how you put it in another thread). I say save the drinking for after the game; I never once saw a "fan" who I thought was better for having been liquored up. Almost always they were a distraction, or worse an embarrassment, for the other Cornell fby jason - Hockey
USCHO (9/3/03) - 20 years ago
Just to bring them to the attention of those who might not frequent USCHO.com in the off season, there are currently two instances of Cornell being mentioned, one is a poll about players who have left early and how much their team will miss them (No surprise, Lenny-Cornell is ranked first). Second item is an article called "Offseason Number Crunching". There isn't much "science&quoby jason - Hockey

Well, that tickles my curiosity: What does Minnesota charge for tickets?by jason - Hockey
Re: Is this just b.s.? - 20 years ago
What I don't get is that the ads imply that while an ordinary cellular call won't reach someone the walkie talkie will. Well, if the person is available and has their Nextel phone handy to answer the walkie talkie, why wouldn't they be just as accessible by a standard call?by jason - Hockey
Need my fix - 20 years ago
I'm trying to get through offseason with a little Cornell hockey pick-me-up. I was fortunate to catch, either in person or on television, all of Cornell's post season run, except for the MN Mankato game. Would anyone out there in possession of a tape of the game be willing to make a copy of it for me? I'll gladly pay for the costs/hassle. On a related note, I recommend to anyone who has it to rby jason - Hockey
Re: Randy Jones jumps from Clarkson - 20 years ago
Eck, not too wowed by the new Clarkson logos. They're not horrible, but I don't consider them an improvement over the existing version. And the "Hockey Word Mark" doesn't work for me; I don't naturally interpret the hockey stick as the L, so it first struck me as misspelled (maybe this is more a symptom of my feeble brain than an defect of the logo ) . Add this to the list of disappoinby jason - Hockey

Ack! Anyone out there willing to dupe their tape of the game? I'll gladly pay for the cost of the tape/shipping/etc.by jason - Hockey
Re: CSTV To Show Game Of the Week - 20 years ago
Well, that makes up my mind. I've been dragging my feet on ordering DirecTV for our new house. CSTV is one of the stations in their Sports Pack. Throw in the regional sports stations that make up the pack that have typically carried college hockey and this is too irresistable. Post Edited (06-13-03 17:19)by jason - Hockey
Re: Playoff DVDs revisited - 20 years ago
Age, will you be doing the Mankato game? I still haven't seen that game and I'm dying for any sort of new Cornell Hockey fix.by jason - Hockey
Re: Games History Upgrade - 20 years ago
Greg, tremendous work (as always). I quickly looked at a couple years and one nit caught my eye under 1992: 28. Mar 13 W 4 - 3 vs Clarkson ECAC SF: Boston I'm quite certain that this game went to OT, I believe two (although not full 20 minute OTs if I recall correctly). In fact, somewhere I have this game on tape (being over ten years old, I wonder how well the vhs tape has held up). Btw, diby jason - Hockey

Re: Hockey East at it again - 21 years ago
re 4x4 OT, what happens during a NC game at a Hockey East barn that goes to OT? If the 4x4 OT applies, that would be a major advantage to the Hockey East team who, presumably, would practice 4x4 more and would generally have a higher comfort level with it. There should be one set of rules for all NCAA competition, period.by jason - Hockey
Re: season tickets for non-students - 21 years ago
Everyone, Thanks for the info; I'm definitely going to try to contact the booster club and see where that leads. And if anyone has more insight, I'd love to hear it.by jason - Hockey

season tickets for non-students - 21 years ago
Did a quick search of the eLF archive but didn't turn up an answer. How would I go about getting (or trying to get) season tickets next year? My wife and I are moving back to New York and the way I figure it we'll be roughly 3 hours from Ithaca. I'd like to think that I could make a bunch of games this upcoming year, especially if I can convince my boss (a fellow Cornellian) to let me take a fewby jason - Hockey
Re: Audio clips from Harvard, BC games are up - 21 years ago
Adam, thanks for providing and Age, thanks for hosting the audio clips. Since I was in attendance for Albany and was glued to my television for the BC game, I hadn't heard Adam's calls of the goals. It was nice to relive them this way, especially since for me a majority of this season was followed by listening to Adam's play-by-play. Given the emotional rollercoaster it was, I would enjoy hearinby jason - Hockey
Re: video - 21 years ago
I too would like to get a copy of the Mankato game. I have the ECAC semifinal and final on tape as well as the NCAA regional game against BC. I also have a bunch of games from the past ten+ years on tape that I could make a copy of and trade (which reminds me, Greg, weren't you and suppose to do a trade (of which games I can't now remember)? I think we dropped the ball on that.).by jason - Hockey

Re: Sportscenter - 21 years ago
Well, I captured it as an mpg, but I don't know what to do with it since it looks like my isp won't allow me to upload such a large file --the file is ~4mb-- to the webspace they give me. Emailing is out too since I know they cap the size of attachments. Here's my best solution: I've uploaded it to some free Yahoo space. Re: T.V. Schedule - 21 years ago
I've spent the morning calling friends/family who are either connected to Cornell or BC or follow college hockey generally to warn them against calling me about the game's outcome. Tape delay is such a drag.by jason - Hockey
