Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: New Pep Band CD! - 22 years ago
Surprisingly, the Underdog Theme doesn't have the same effect on me, it justs strikes me as a goofy/amusing song (and Underdog is not an underdog, if that makes sense), plus now that some folks have contrived lyrics that replace "Underdog" with "Underhill" its place in the Pep Band's repertoire seems all the more appropriate.by jason - Hockey
Saluting the crowd - 22 years ago
When did the organized salute take hold? My earliest recollection is the '96 NCAA East Regionals when Cornell lost a heartbreaker (damn that crossbar!) yet nonetheless gathered in the Cornell corner of Pepsi Arena and saluted the Cornell contingent. That was really poignant which is why I remember it, but before that I just can't recall being conscious of the salute (my memory is horribly unreliaby jason - Hockey

Glad to hear that the Imperial March will make the new CD (and I still think this would be a better song to herald Cornell's return for the third period than the Rocky Theme and its undby jason - Hockey
Re: 2/4/02 Polls - 22 years ago
Ugh. I'm not a big fan of the "my fellow voters aren't giving team X its due, so I'll take it upon myself to correct the situation by giving team X an inflated rank", even when Cornell is the beneficiary. Now, rather than folks talking about how Cornell is proving itself formidable with its 6 game win streak against some stiff competition, everyone is going to be bellyaching about thisby jason - Hockey
Threaded vs Flat - 22 years ago
Greg, Maybe it's long years of being "programmed" by the old CHDF (sounds funny to say "old", but I don't find the threaded format that appealing/comfortable. I think of each topic as a linear thread with all posts being a contribution to the topic. I'm probably inadvertantly undermining the thread approach by tacking whatever replay I have to the last post appearing in the flaby jason - Hockey
