Re: Just in case you missed it... - 21 years ago
Well, Rich might have been a little zealous in his statements (my feelings about Mazz fall somewhere in the "luke warm" to "mildly put off" range depending on the day) but I agree to a degree in that often after reading quotes by Mazz --for example, in the USCHO recap of this year's Cornell-Harvard game-- it strikes me that his praise of Cornell or other opposition is served uby jason - Hockey
Re: Just in case you missed it... - 21 years ago
Mark, thanks, I had not seen that. It's a pretty good article, although N. Michigan will be mighty upset to learn that the '91 NCAA title went to Harvard.by jason - Hockey

A-hole, Sorry to hear about your dead balls. Maybe letting all those stangers lick your "nut-sack" was the culprit.by jason - Hockey
Re: The Polls... - 21 years ago
littleredfan, you're not obligated to read every thread on eLF. Given your dislike for conversations regarding the polls, you might want to avoid clicking on threads with suggestive titles, like, say "The Polls...".by jason - Hockey

Hmmm, I wonder if there are enough of us in the NYC area that we could convince a sports bar in Manhattan to put the game on for us.by jason - Hockey

Mark, Thanks for posting this. Do you have a link to the source? ('m guessing it is an excerpt from some article on BU.)by jason - Hockey
Re: Thoughts of BU-CU & Beyond - 21 years ago
My recollection from articles following Team Canada's summer camp was that Lenny had been the strongest goalie there. How scary is it that Cornell may have the best amateur goalie in all of Canada! That would make two out of the six populated continents, since Cornell arguably already accomplished such feat with Australia.by jason - Hockey
Re: Thoughts of BU-CU & Beyond - 21 years ago
But Maine has a second goalie who has seen significant playing time (5 games so far) and has good stats (1.59 GAA and .935 Save%).by jason - Hockey
Re: Thoughts of BU-CU & Beyond - 21 years ago
Do teams generally pack it up after the Saturday night game and head straight home? I guess I was just assuming without really thinking about it that the teams wouldn't travel home until Sunday, but now that I do think about it that is probably incorrect. Greg, I worked four years at two large NYC law firms (thankfully no more), so I know all about working on weekends. Oh well, I guess my Saby jason - Hockey
Re: Thoughts of BU-CU & Beyond - 21 years ago
Here's a thought of a different sort: Why aren't more hockey games held on Sat and Sun afternoon like this past weekend's games with BU? Personally, this would be a real boon; I live about 4hrs from Ithaca and to catch a weekend of games at the usual game times means taking a half day off of work on Fridays. With Sat-Sun afternoon games, no such problem, plus it only requires one hotel night versby jason - Hockey

The article mentions the dates of the World Jrs, which overlap with the FL tourney and the North Country road trip.by jason - Hockey
Re: Paolini Named ECAC Player of the Week - 21 years ago
Unfortunately, the ECAC office takes a "spread the wealth" approach with these awards so at times it really is "Player/Goalie of the Week Amongst Those Who Haven't Yet Had the Honor" --but that name is much too unwieldy to use all the time.by jason - Hockey
Re: Thoughts of BU-CU & Beyond - 21 years ago
Boy, am I ever glad that I made the trip up this weekend! BU came out in the first game with a lot of pep and I thought that Cornell was back on their heels (BU having two quick power plays didn't help) but when Cornell scored their first goal they seemed to come alive. BU never again controlled the play, Saturday or Sunday. Going into Sunday I was nervous, figuring that Parker might have seen soby jason - Hockey
Re: TBRW new look - 21 years ago
Greg, I use 800x600 resolution and this causes the top menu bar to be too long requiring horizontal scrolling to get to the "Index" button (and all of the bottoms of the buttons are cut off by the frame as well). I like what you did with the 2002-2003 schedule --having the opposition's logo and giving short blurbs on each game. For some reason, each instance where a blurb or boxscoreby jason - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. BU - 21 years ago
To cut to the chase: Why should we care to see other NC teams get better? And why should we necessarily desire the growth of college hockey? Sure, I want to see some healthy competition for Cornell, but that existed a-plenty without the MAAC or CHA. I personally preferred it when the Div I universe consisted of the WCHA and CCHA out west and the ECAC and Hockey East here --the East-West symmetryby jason - Hockey

The original "Live at Lynah" is still available at the book store, I believe.by jason - Hockey
Re: forgotten cheer - 21 years ago
A treeee-mendous game. I too was in attendance for that comeback against Brown --in Section O. The sweetest part was the group of Brown fans --including a particularly loud mouthed girl-- in the row in front of my friends and I who seemed to spend more of the third period turned around talking smack to us than watching the actual game play. The look of disbelief/devastation on that girl's face asby jason - Hockey
Re: This weekend's FREE WEBCAST links - 21 years ago
John, Sorry I didn't respond to your email; I was away for the weekend without internet access. And thanks for putting up the audio links here in case the page didn't return in time. I think the page was down due to my ISP having a temporary outage. It's hosted on my personal account with them and they're not particularly motivated to deliver top-notch web hosting.by jason - Hockey
Lynah seating - 21 years ago
The Section O aisle seats on the stairs between Section O and N, is that seat #1 or is that the last seat (whatever number that would be) for each row? Thanks in advance.by jason - Hockey

Sounds like Lenny's toughest save may have come with 12 seconds to go; Leneveu got his left toe on a tricky shot to preserve the tie.by jason - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Vermont 11/15/02*updates* 7-0 Cornell 3rdP - 21 years ago
According to Wodon, Vermont's "White Out" was mostly a bust. Some of the students did it but mostly the Vermont fans "didn't get the memo." And it is now 8-0 on a sharp angle shot. Cam Abbott gets the credit.by jason - Hockey

Re: Cornell @ Vermont 11/15/02 - updates - 21 years ago
Random observation: How come the Sun is so quick to quote someone as saying "gotta"? Sure, people run "got to" together an awful lot, but it seems odd that you would quote someone in such fashion (they even did it with Coach). Ok, I'm done wasting everbody's time.by jason - Hockey

I have the link to the Dartmouth webcast on the audio links page, but I have not been able to successfully connect to it (hence my notation "broken link?".
