Ticket Numbers and Camp Out - 16 years ago
The ticket number discussion was getting a bit stale. I have some questions. What number did they reach on Friday before they closed? The last person to answer said "about 1600."...Which makes me think of another question: Tradition aside, what's the point of a campout if there's no waitlist? Would they still require it? Think of how much money they'd save if they DIDN'T have a caby LaJollaRed - Hockey

Re: Luke Galvin out, Paul Stewart in - 16 years ago
Yes, but poor job by Hagwell to find a staff writer who remembers to edit for redundancy: "Stewart assumes the leadership role of an officiating staff that comprised more than 40 individuals in 2006-07...Stewart assumes the leadership role of an officiating staff that comprised more than 40 individuals in 2006-07." What's this mean for Viola's career?by LaJollaRed - Hockey

Speaking of "Rebuilding Year" The team's practice jerseys have "N.E.X.T." stenciled on the bottom. Any guesses as to what this means to them?by LaJollaRed - Hockey

I want to vomit with rage. Something's wrong...Something's very wrong. But it's reversable....DAN DILEO TO THE RESCUE! ...Kidding...(well, kidding on the square)...by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: NetMinders - 17 years ago
Yeah, I'm done. I'm glad "Scrivner" got the start, but there's no offense on this team, and neither goalie deserves any blame.by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: NetMinders - 17 years ago
I agree with starting Scrivens. The problem is, like a racehorse, goalies are very easily psyched out by many off-ice things. I worry that benching Davenport and replacing him with a freshman is going to be very difficult for him to recover from...especially because he left the team once as a result of not getting ice time. That said, though, how much do we care about Davenport's feelings?by LaJollaRed - Hockey

Not sure how recent this update on McKee is, but it looks like he's been recalled again: ducksnewsreleaseby LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: Cornell's ice-skating treadmill - 17 years ago
It's the strangest thing...Today I was in the Ramin room, trying to break into one of the side rooms to get to some gear of mine that had been mistakenly locked in there. Anyway--While I was climbing over rusty fitness bikes, I came across this holy Treadmill...The surface is a rough, cottony glass...strange!by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: dressing 3 goalies - 17 years ago
Davenport's been spotty. In case of emergency, say, if he lets in three in the first period, we pull him, we'd still have a "back up" in DiLeo. Also, who gives a flying Harvard why...by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 Princeton 2 Post Game Thread - 17 years ago
Correct me if I'm wrong, and bother me with your superior knowledge if you must: But this is how I've been explaining the difference between McKee and Davenport, thus far in the season: McKee was more of a Hasek Type. Davenport is more of a Roy. That is - McKee makes acrobatic gasper saves....Davenport seems to be in the right place at the right time. BUT! 6-1-0....I'm feeling prettyby LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: As Expected, "Zero Tolerance" For Friday Night - 17 years ago
Yes...but how cool would it be if 4 guys at the bottom of section B heafted a marlin over the glass? I'm not promising anything...but come on...it's a marlin.by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: Cornell 5 RIT 3 - 17 years ago
I wouldn't count that second goal against Davenport's performance. The RIT forward put up a brilliant screen. Other than that, defense was very, very good with many selfless body-sacrificing blocks.by LaJollaRed - Hockey
Re: RED/WHITE GAME FRI 10/13 7:30 pm - 17 years ago
The game wasn't terrible. Defense wasn't awful, which was my immediate worry, plus all three goalies did well in the PS's Other than that: 1. Too many penalties (the ref called too many things that probably would have been ECAC kosher) 2. Topher was a bit silent the whole game. I was looking for him to come out swinging, but I'm sure he's just waiting for real games to be his usual aby LaJollaRed - Hockey
