Re: 2010 NCAA hockey regional ticket situation - 14 years ago
Jordan 04 Are single-day tickets available? Yes. $45 per session, as opposed to $80 for all-session tickets. The online ticketing system seems to be giving you better seats when you buy single-session tickets than the package. You may be able to call and get your desired section. I decided to go with StubHub (Section 120, which is center ice, one section away from the edge of the Cornellby Greenberg '97 - Hockey

Jim Hyla ugarte They are going to be in Albany and I STILL can't go. *sigh* I swear, I love having a toddler most of the time...Bring toddler. Bringing toddler. Not bringing toddler to Syracuse, where he would require a ticketby Greenberg '97 - Hockey
Re: East Regional Roll Call - 14 years ago
Josh '99 Greenberg '97 Looks like the Carrier Dome has a policy that all people, regardless of age, require a ticket. Paying $74 for a 17-month old might be the dealbreaker for me. Shame. You'd also have to bring your 17-month-old to a game that starts at 10pm. (Not sure if that was covered elsewhere.) For some reason, that part doesn't bother me as much. It does bother my wife a bit. Maybeby Greenberg '97 - Other Sports

Re: All around excellence - 14 years ago
mnagowski At least two of the story lines are over (women's hockey and wrestling). I actually kind of feel pretty bad for the students who need to try to keep up with all of this stuff on their spring break. I saw this before the edit and thought you felt bad about runner-up performances by the women and the grapplers. Great performances by both. I feel bad that I ran out of DVR space aby Greenberg '97 - Other Sports

Re: All around excellence - 14 years ago
amerks127 Chris '03-Tough job for the editors of the Sun to layout the front and back pages for tomorrow too. Too bad the w. hockey team will probably end up with less credit than is due given the other results. We're on spring break right now, so no print coverage until the following Monday. I am glad I'm not an editor who has to decide how to lay everything out. From a former Assistant Spoby Greenberg '97 - Other Sports

The DirecTV directory for WCBS-NY now shows Cornell-Temple in the 12:30 slot on Friday. Sorry to all the transplanted Gopher fans out there.by Greenberg '97 - Other Sports
Re: CU & ECAC Tourney on TV - 14 years ago
I flipped through my TV last night and the info bar confirmed the live feeds on 3/19 (NHL Network) and 3/20 (FCSP). WCBS is still "Teams TBA" for hoops (see my post on the "Other Sports" board). For those with Cablevision who can't drive to Albany this weekend (shame on us), you can purchase the Sports Pack which includes both channels for $5/month, or do what I did last yby Greenberg '97 - Hockey
Re: Cornell game time - 14 years ago
ugarte It should be streaming live on CBSsports.com, so if you can watch at your desk while taking care of your work commitments you're set. I've thought about that and have done that in years past, but the network has since been overhauled and many more sites are being blocked. I mean, what makes them so sure I'm not visiting facebook and xmradio for work purposes? Plus I don't have admin riby Greenberg '97 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell game time - 14 years ago
Has anyone heard if WCBS-TV in New York is showing our game as their primary game in that slot? We're against West Virginia, and NYC is a Big East market, but geographically, Cornell and Temple are two of the closest teams in the tournament. wcbstv.com still lists the Friday slots as "Teams TBA," whereas they already have games listed for Thursday. If anyone knows anything, pleasby Greenberg '97 - Other Sports
Re: Cornell Basketball - ECAC Holiday Classic - 14 years ago
All three local hockey teams play tonight -- MSG will join the Cornell game in progress after Rangers postgame (roughly 10:00). FSC-A will carry it from the beginning. I'll probably just go to a sports bar and ask for a dedicated TV. There's no other big New York game tonight, is there?by Greenberg '97 - Other Sports
Re: Should the goal have counted? - 14 years ago
kingpin248Rule 4, section 9 (Goal Not Allowed): m. If an attacking player deliberately leaves his feet by jumping or diving and his momentum carries him into the crease area, regardless of whether he lands in the crease before or after the ball enters the goal. ben03Greenberg '97The thing is, the stall rule kind of encourages shooting in these games. The higher the score, the more likely for the refs to issue a stall warning. Once a stall warning is issued, a possession either ends with a shot or a turnover. You might as well take the shot. agreed ... this is a touchy subject. Re: Cornell vs Virginia - 14 years ago
Jacob '06I really wish our defenders would stop stopping right at the midline if there are enough people back. Just carry the ball up, give it to an attackman and then get back. The first time they did that, I thought it was offside waiting to happen. The second time, it happened. Could've been a turning point if it led to a goal.by Greenberg '97 - Other Sports

Tom Pasniewski 98 Whoever mentioned on street parking - don't count on it. Plenty of street parking as you moved east from the stadium. I was four blocks away, and kept it nice and legal (as opposed to some who were disregarding crosswalks, driveways, and hydrants).by Greenberg '97 - Other Sports

After dropping over $200 on three nights of watching ESPNU at sports bars during the hockey tournament, and another $100 on a trip up to Albany, it'll be nice to see a live game for a mere $20. I'll be there. I'm working in Queens during the day, so the later game is much better for me, although, of course, I will try to sneak out early for Terps-Cuse. Anyone know if there's street parking neby Greenberg '97 - Other Sports
Re: go bemidji, I guess - 15 years ago
Jim, thanks for the on-scene reporting, as always. Actually, I have no allegiance to any of the remaining teams. I just needed a subject line to point out the fallacy of the graphic that ESPNU kept running (and ugarte mentioned in the game thread): That Bemidji State advancing to the frozen four would be the equivalent of a #64 seed in basketball making it. Which, of course, is utter nonsensby Greenberg '97 - Hockey
go bemidji, I guess - 15 years ago
You know, if Bemidji goes on to win the tournament, it would be the equivalent of a 128th seed being elected president of the moon.by Greenberg '97 - Hockey
