Re: Lax Final Four Tickets - 16 years ago
You guys do realize that you can go to lax4baltimore.org and download a pdf which you can fill out and fax over to the ticket office? Worked for me...by Erica - Other Sports
BU/Dartmouth - 17 years ago
The BU/Dartmouth consolation game in Hanover just happens to be on channel CN8 in the DC area. I have no idea why. I think it's SLU and NoDak in the championship but I'm not sure. The game is just starting now.by Erica - Hockey
Re: Emily Hughes - 18 years ago
She fell on a triple flip in practice and injured her groin. Either way, Emily should be preparing herself as an alternate.by Erica - Hockey

You are like a minute and a half ahead of me. The penalty just startedby Erica - Hockey
Re: Rangers v.s Capitals - 18 years ago
OR you can just go to the Caps website and watch it for free, with no signing up for anything. You can even fast forward through the first 14 rounds.by Erica - Hockey

??? They got rid of the PAM major in 1998, didn't they?by Erica - Hockey
Re: [OT] The Apocalypse is Officially Upon Us - 18 years ago
It obviously didn't start with GWB. There are plenty of people that pronounce nuclear like that. It seems like just a lazy pronuciation stemming from dialect. People brush it off as just being his accent, but the reason why it bothers me is because it's completely random. If you reverse the n and the u, you have unclear. Have you ever heard anyone pronounce that "uncular." It's just tby Erica - Hockey
Re: Watching the Regionals in DC-NoVA-MD - 19 years ago
There will be an email about it. And I'm sure it will posted here. The last two gatherings were at Grand Slam Sports Bar in the Grand Hyatt on H St. Just wait until we even know if, and when, it will be televised.by Erica - Hockey

Re: Letter to CSTV about ECACHL Tournament Coverage - 19 years ago
My coworker just emailed me two minutes ago with this question? "Didn't Congress ban hockey this year?" And he wasn't joking.by Erica - Hockey

How does the C of red look? I can't exactly see it on the free audio.by Erica - Hockey
Re: This Week's Column Up - 19 years ago
As a grammar police veteran, I don't get it. What's wrong with it? This week is a possessive. It is possessing the column. So why is that wrong? I don't think it's supposed to be read as this week is column up.by Erica - Hockey
Re: How To Be a Good Fan - 19 years ago
The only school, AFAIK, that puts heavy weight on the interview is the Hotel School. They require it, and it can make or break you. I know my interview for the Arts School was pretty lame and never went back to the admissions committee anyway.by Erica - Hockey
Re: Dragon Day vs. ECACHL in Albany - 19 years ago
Yeah, then it was definitely twice. I seem to remember my freshman year, '98, when we lost the play in game, I believe to Princeton, but I could be wrong. That was also the year I missed Dragon Day. Or it could have been sophomore year. Oh well, whatever.by Erica - Hockey
Re: Dragon Day vs. ECACHL in Albany - 19 years ago
It was on Thursday before spring break the years I was there. I remember missing most of them because for the pep band, we left Thursday morning for the play - in game at Placid one year or maybe two years, and usually Thursday afternoon for the other years.by Erica - Hockey
Re: Polls 2/28 - 19 years ago
Wasn't that the Frozen Four game? wouldn't that be a semifinal? I thought BC was the quarterfinal/regional?by Erica - Hockey
Re: National TV Impressions - 19 years ago
not you LOOSE, cheer. it realy bugs me. You know what really bugs me? When perfectly educated folk don't know that loose is an adjective, like the opposite of tight, and lose is a verb, like the opposite of win. Everybody makes this mistake, even my grad school professors.by Erica - Hockey
Re: How good are the Patriots? - 19 years ago
They could, but the area doesn't consider the Redskins to be a DC team. When the Nationals were added, they considered it the fifth professional team, after the Capitals, Wizards, Mystics and DC United, because the 'Skins play in Landover, MD. Weird, I know, but I guess they are talking about teams within the city limits.by Erica - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs. Clarkson in Boston? - 19 years ago
Ask the guys at Boston Beer Works if they have CSTV. The owner is a Cornellian and I watched the Frozen Four there. Can't guarantee much sound but it's more fun to socialize anyway.by Erica - Hockey
Re: Schafer - 19 years ago
Trust me. I'm already corrupted. You can't touch me with your vulgarity.by Erica - Hockey
Re: [OT] What Is the Rarest Single-Game Feat in Sports? - 19 years ago
I saw an old lady on the Early Show earlier this year who was being interviewed because she got two holes-in-one in a row. She was commenting on how the chances of that happening were something like 18 million - 1. Anyway, she wasn't a professional, just an old lady.by Erica - Hockey
Re: [Lax]: SU @ CU - 20 years ago
Last year on marathon Monday it was cold and threatening to rain the whole time. Not much fun, but great running weather. It started getting warm towards 11 or so, which for most marathoners is about 15 miles into the race.by Erica - Hockey
Re: The Lynah and E-Lynah Gestapo - 20 years ago
Incidentally, I have a story about the phone number thing. My boyfriend went to Princeton this weekend to visit a friend, and it turns out the friend's roommate is the starting goalie for the hockey team (Leroux.) After he found out my boyfriend was a Cornellian, he started him telling how crazy the fans were. He said he came home the weekend after playing in Ithaca and he had dozens of messagesby Erica - Hockey

8-4 over Harvard, 2/11/76 (the game wasn't as close as the score). That doesn't sound particularly close.by Erica - Hockey
Re: Cornell alumni in the pros: March 2004 - 20 years ago
As an aside. Not really in the pros, but congrats to Larry Pierce and Christine Chaffee Pierce on the birth of their son, Lawrence Steven Pierce, Oct. 25, 2003by Erica - Hockey
