Re: 2023 ECAC Post Season - 1 year ago
This is Trotsky. I cou”d be wrong but I do not think we are in. I think if St. Cloud loses we’re out. 3 dark horses already in (AH, ECAC, CCHA). CC wins and we’re dead. Prove me wrong. Please.by Anne 85 - Hockey

Re: Visiting Lynah guide - 4 years ago
I just stumbled across this article about the top 9 student sections in college hockey. The list appears to be alphabetical, so Cornell is 3rd. NCAA.com article Not a lot of detail, but it has a link to the eLynah cheers section (which needs a bit of updating).by Anne 85 - Hockey

I second the recommendation to watch all episodes of Coupling, but make sure it's the British series. They tried a US version and it was absolutely dreadful!by Anne 85 - Hockey

I like the food at Maxie's Supper Club. Haven't been there for a while, so maybe this weekend! Sad to hear that the the building that currently houses Rulloff's is going to be torn down. Love the quirky architecture, but it's very dark and "worn."by Anne 85 - Hockey

We were outplayed in the QF. Overall I am extremely happy with the season and proud of the team.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Providence - 5 years ago
SwampyBut in any case, I hope this evening Cornell fans will show the world that we "travel well," and to make noise, we don't need the game to be in our backyard.Go Red! I know there were people who couldn't make the 1R but were planning on the QF. I hope we have a good turnout tonight. There were a ton of scalpers so there should be no problem with tickets, particularly with all thoby Anne 85 - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82And he calls the game like he's yukking it up on SportsCenter. Thanks for ruining something that I had been able to ignore up to this point. I'm watching the game, too. These guys suck. Whatever happened to play-by-play? All they do is talk about anything but what's happening on the ice. Both of these are the ESPNication of sports. Everything is about them and their broadby Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Northeastern - 5 years ago
Each qualifying team has demonstrated it is dangerous either by solid play all year long or getting hot at AQ time. AIC (Springfield, MA) beat #1 St. Cloud in Fargo with no home advantage. However, it is not fair for 1 seeds to travel long distances and play in the 4 seed's city or building. I understand why the NC$$ does it but it harms the competitive neutrality of the sport and that has tby Anne 85 - Hockey

Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
KenP IMO biggest room for improvement is Strength of Schedule.I'd have said so too but our shit SOS got us to #1 in the country this year. Now, did it hurt our preparation for the playoffs? Maybe.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
BigRedHockeyFan Anne 85 D (7 return) (2) sought, I do not believe Bliss will be back. Ryan Bliss lists himself as Cornell '18 on Facebook. It's unfortunate he was not able to play last year or this year. I wish him the best of luck.My understanding is he didn't do senior night because he's going to give it another shot. He's our David Wright. I admire his courage and determination and oby Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
Hopefully The Plan is to keep gradually moving the equalizer levels in favor of speed and finesse and accentuating full participation of all 5 players on the offense. Having a solid netminder in Galajda for possibly 3 more seasons surely won't hurt that. Nothing is guaranteed but we're in a good position next year: solid D and G returning, and a good foundation at F with perhaps more help comby Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-BU - 6 years ago
RichH Probably the best post-mortem of this weekend that matches my views came in the conclusion in a piece about the parity of this tournament, written by Joe Meloni on CHN titled "No. 1 Doesn't Mean What it Used To." BU knocking Cornell off on Saturday was a case of, effectively, two largely equivalent teams that hit their strides at different points in the season. The Terriers areby Anne 85 - Hockey

BearLoverSchafer has never made the NCAA tournament three years in a row. Remember the great freshman class in 2011-12? It had four draft picks on it and the team's leading scorer (as a freshman). Made the NCAAs that year...never made it again. Nothing is guaranteed. That's why, even when the future looks bright or you're playing with house money, your tournament run is no less important than anyby Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: 2018-19 Schedule - 6 years ago
abmarks Spoke to a cornell staffer at the game who said that Schaefer is apparently looking at a trip to play ASU next Christmas time.Oh fuck yes. Edit: BTW, this is Greg, not Anne. I think you knew that.by Anne 85 - Hockey

Bad stuff is what makes good stuff matter. This was a very enjoyable season with many good memories. For all but one team it was going to end on a down note. Next year let's be that one team. See you all in 7 months.by Anne 85 - Hockey
