Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: cu- lowell - 7 years ago
French Rage GBR1234 Why was a 2 minute penalty not assessed against UML after the goal was disallwoed for having too many men on the ice? Can some explain? Apparently it's only an additional penalty if occurring during a major penalty but not a minor penalty. Which is really random. You need to change your sig. This is Trotsky, visiting, BTW. Anne isn't obnoxious.by Anne 85 - Hockey

Who are you calling elderly?!? Nice to see a win again!by Anne 85 - Hockey

IcebergMore importantly though; When did Clarkson learn how to score goals? Since they played Brown.by Anne 85 - Hockey

FYI, tickets are on sale now. Ticket office was a bit puzzled at the lack of line.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell hockey at MSG every year - 10 years ago
I like what the architects did with the addition to Sage Hall and the Physical Sciences Building (that's the one where they basically built a new building around the older ones, right?). Can't think of any others that are memorable in a good way.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Quarterfinals at Q - 11 years ago
I thought the rest of the team stepped it up a bit after Kanji went in. They actually seemed to control the play a bit, until the inevitable penalty put them behind the 8-ball again (although tecnically they killed the penalty). Also, with 2 defensemen (D'Agostino and McDonald) in the penalty box for the first 12 minutes of the third, it would have been kinda mean to put Kanji back out there.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Hahvahd - 11 years ago
That's perfect. Thank YOU! The goals looked a bit different from behind the net (and in my head), but all were very pretty, especially #1 and #3.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Hahvahd - 11 years ago
Is there video of the Cornell goals? I would really love to see the one where the puck was passed back to the player right at the top of the crease. I think it was the third goal.by Anne 85 - Hockey

I wouldn't assume that re-entry policy is the same for NCAA playoffs as it was for ECAC playoffs.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - February 2009 - 15 years ago
The Bruins radio broadcast named Bitz as #1 star after his 2-goal effort tonight. He also gave a nice interview, although the interviewer called him "Bitsy" a number of times (I know some don't care for that particular nickname). I didn't catch the game, but there should be some good highlights on local TV tonight.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Clarkson Postgame Thread - 15 years ago
Wow -- look at the ratios for the top 4 coaches in the list of shutouts for: Schafer -- 48 shutouts for, 22 against Harkness -- 37 for, 5 against Bertrand -- 15 for, 4 against Bawlf -- 13 for, 17 against Not sure exactly what it means, except to confirm that the Harkness teams were pretty amazing. McCutcheon (5 for, 12 against) was also special (not in a good way).by Anne 85 - Hockey

I'd be happy to help, but I'm not there either. And, I'm much less technologically adept than the rest of you. Now, if we could just make my lines book electronic, we'd be all set. Anne '85by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: R1 Game 3: Dartmouth 0 @ Cornell 4 (2nd Intermission) - 16 years ago
I don't think the Cornell announcers have mentioned a misconduct for Gaudet (and I didn't see it on LiveStats). Guess we'll find out ~7 seconds into the third.by Anne 85 - Hockey

Isn't J Devin just serving the second penalty for Barlow (so someone can come out of the box)?by Anne 85 - Hockey

is the crowd saying "your kid sucks?" (probably just "Dartmouth sucks"by Anne 85 - Hockey

At least I can drink tonight (listening at home, near Boston). I usually don't drink before or during games, but last night I found myself wishing that the concession stand sold margarita's (or better yet, shots) rather than just Pepsi products. LGR!by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1 at Harvard 2 (3rd) - 16 years ago
imafrshmnHarvard had the upper edge on the forecheck tonight and I think that made the difference. Good goaltending on both sides kept things tight. Sucks seems the better team at this point in the season.Yep. I don't like Harard beating us on the forecheck -- if we're less talented, we need to be that much more aggressive.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1 at Harvard 2 postgame - 16 years ago
redhair34I'd like to be at Thompson for a Cornell win at least once before I wither away. I just hope that day is tomorrow (the win, not the withering).(Trotsky posting from Anne's account):I am 8-1 at Thompson and I'll be there tonight. If Kennedy's (?) second-period post-ringer had been an inch to the right, we might have won. OTOH, Scrivens got VERY lucky several times... we could easilyby Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Incorrect score reporting at Lynah tonight - 17 years ago
I saw some "highlights" from the Clarkson/Colgate game on a local news broadcast. Any idea why Clarkson wore their home uniforms (with names on the back) at Colgate? Did they have a laundry accident on Friday night?by Anne 85 - Hockey

You're just saying that because the Mets are ranked second.by Anne 85 - John Spencer Is Dead

My understanding is that it's just "screw BU," although I suspect you'd find a lot of support for "screw BH; Harvard too."by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Frozen Four semis - 18 years ago
It's really strange rooting for a red team with a great goalie named Elliott and having it not be Cornell. But I'm definitely rooting for them. I turned on the TV just before Wisconsin scored the shorthanded goal, and startled the cat cheering for the goal. I really hate the off-season!by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Frozen Four semis - 18 years ago
Let's go Red! (sic) Did I miss something, or did the Wisconsin guy not even touch the Maine guy he allegedly pushed into the goalie? Do we know who the ref is?by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Green Bay Regional - 18 years ago
I know it's a bit late in the process, but Midwest had the lowest fares from Boston.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Green Bay Regional - 18 years ago
FYI, the Cornell ticket office can't send tickets to Will Call in Green Bay (the rink won't allow it), so you have to either pick up the tickets in Ithaca or pay to have them sent via FedEx.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Green Bay Roll Call - 18 years ago
I'll be there. Staying at the Comfort Inn in Green Bay. Hope the weather's going to be decent.by Anne 85 - Hockey
Re: Green Bay Roll Call - 18 years ago
FYI, Green Bay is an option if you're leaving from Boston, but the hotels are all about 35 miles from the airport (so you'd need to add a car). Also, the initial prices assume double occupancy, so it goes up if there's just one person travelling.by Anne 85 - Hockey
