Re: NCAA regionals in Springfield - 27 days ago
Beeeej Jeff Hopkins '82 They certainly announced him as the goalie at the rink. Whether the Maine line-up sheet for the media was accurate is another question. The broadcasters later specifically said the sheet had not been accurate. The general public does not normally have access to the team lineup charts, but if you do, do not make the mistake of reading anything more into them than the lby ACM - Hockey

Trotsky redice RichH adamw David Harding imafrshmn sah67 Iceberg I can tell you that ~15 years ago when I was a student, there was no such entry onto the ice after games and there was virtually no opportunity to interact with the players unless you were classmates, working with the team in a media capacity, or socially acquainted. adamw Just going to chime in with my usual old man two cents - but I agree with just about everything written here - especially Trotsky's request to bring back the striptease. What a loss. And when did the post-quarters flood the ice tradition end? Covid? That's a massive shame. George64 osorojo I was hoping for a cogent explanation (or excuse) for current Cornell Men's hockey pitiful record against opponents ranked 20th best - or worse! I only mentioned past Cornell Ice Hockey glory because I still cherish memories of the Lou Mobbs and Paul Patton and Ned Harkness days. Of course, I remember Paul Patton and Ned Harkness, but Lou Mobbs was only a vague memory, so I seaby ACM - Hockey

Dafatone My sanity versus these announcers is the battle now. You can absolutely lift a stick and keep it tied up for the half a second that a guy is trying to shoot. Section 7 Rule 58 - Hooking 58.1 Hooking - A player shall not impede the progress of an opponent by hooking with the stick or by using the stick in a reverse position to obtain the puck or prevent the opponent from playingby ACM - Hockey
Re: Women 2023-24 - 2 months ago
dbilmes After scoring 21 goals two weeks ago against Dartmouth and Yale, Cornell has had a tough time scoring goals, scoring just four each of the past two weekends. The caliber of the opponents has been better, but both teams Cornell played this weekend are in the lower half of the ECAC standings. By "Yale", you mean "Harvard", right?by ACM - Hockey

Re: Cornell @ Princeton 11/18/23 - 5 months ago
Per WHCU pre-game: Schafer ill, Syer coaching; Bancroft out ("banged up", Catalano in; Mosko out, Mack in ("we wanted to get an extra forward in the lineup" per Syer), Keopple in goal.by ACM - Hockey

dag14 I now live in Denver so I have to rely on what the camera shows but I was in Lynah for almost every home game until 2018. My comment was merely a reaction to the announcer's characterization of the attendance, not a judgement. People show up late. Now in the second period, most of those empty seats are gone. Here is a link to Ned Dykes' photos of the second UMD game. Draw your own concby ACM - Hockey

Trotsky David Harding Who was the next Cornellian to make the NHL after Ken Dryden? Or any pro league? Fullan, the same season. Larry Fullan played 4 games for the Washington Capitals during the 1974-75 season. Brian McCutcheon played 17 games for the Detroit Red Wings that same season. Not sure which one got there first.by ACM - Hockey

BMac Isn’t it matching minors? I could have sworn those resulted in a 4x5 if a team scored. Maybe I’m just misremembering. Never. Not in my 57 years of Cornell hockey.by ACM - Hockey
Re: Union @ Cornell - 1 year ago
upprdeck I dont know I never realized that the major becomes a new PP after a goal is scored.. Maybe its because we never seemed to score on them.. did anyone look up fastest 4 goal stretches.. 4 in a min is pretty crazy Three goals in 22 seconds might be a Cornell record for fastest 3 goals. The Cornell Hockey Record Book (image attached) shows 3 goals in 24 seconds in a game back in 1976,by ACM - Hockey

George64 Before tonight, we were very successful on our penalty kill. How does having three goals scored on a major penalty affect our penalty kill rate? Not germane tonight, but in general, how is killing a five minute major accounted for? The same as a minor? . Start with one power play opportunity. Scoring a goal starts another opportunity. So giving up 3 goals would be considered 3 goalby ACM - Hockey
