marty Colgate up on Union 2-1 with 10 minutes left in the 3rd. Whistle at exactly 10 minutes and no shovel time out. I second too soon, I guess. From ECAC Policies and Procedures: "There will be one (1) TV Timeout (TVTO), 90 seconds in length, each period - not to include any overtime period. The TVTO shall occur at the first permissible stoppage of play under the 10-minute mark&qby ACM - Hockey

Trotsky Dafatone I know you can't play the puck with a broken stick. Does kicking at the puck count? Should've dropped the broken stick, I guess?Art would know but I think you can be called for carrying a broken stick even if you are nowhere near the puck. "A player whose stick is broken may participate in the game provided the player immediately drops the broken stick."by ACM - Hockey

Trotsky Thanks, Dunc. For once, the derp on WHCU dies right on time. Interesting to see Seger out. Penney and Wallace back from the galloping trots. And Jack O'Brien wearing two different numbers.by ACM - Hockey

Trotsky Per Q announcers, Psenicka is from "Chechnya." Czechia, like it says here.by ACM - Hockey

dbilmes arugula Yes the inaccuracies, bad grammar, and poor syntax are rather shocking. I don't know if Brandon Thomas still works for the Sports Information Office, but if he does, I'm sure this wasn't written by him. He doesn't. He left at the end of last season for another job at Cornell.by ACM - Hockey

BearLover Dafatone BearLover Dafatone Given the rapidly changing situation that is COVID, I'll just say that we don't know what things will look like. By the start of the season, things could be great, terrible, or anywhere in between. Cases numbers could be low, high, or in between, you mean? Sure, but that should have no bearing on attendance restrictions. Everyone who participates in societby ACM - Hockey

Chris '03 Trotsky It will be a few years and anything can happen, but he may be our highest-rated incoming F since Riley Nash. I just hope he gets here in time for Grady and Jason to have to say variations on "Pirtle from Ertel." Sounds like something from Dr. Seuss. The Teenage Mutant Ninjas?by ACM - Hockey
Re: Randy Wilson Day - 2 years ago
redice Trotsky redice Trotsky Box. The final part of the box score has an error. Lance Nethery did NOT skate "end-to-end. Henessey retrieved the puck near the Cornell cage & head-manned to Nethery, who shot the puck from near the Friars' blueline, for the goal.I went by the game report posted to the prior Randy Wilson Day thread. If you look at the box score, you can see that Henesby ACM - Hockey

Guess there was a massive bookkeeping exercise at the end of last night's game. Minors and miscoducts against everyone on the ice. What I once referred to as "a whole mess of penalties".by ACM - Hockey
Re: CCT @ Cornell, 2/19/22 - 2 years ago
Robb ugarte Trotsky We are all Sullivan Mack. someone else will remember who this was but there was a player when I was at Cornell who had no goals his entire career. Senior year, he lined up an empty-netter and a teammate vultured it by redirecting a shot that was already on target. Burke?I remember a game, possibly a senior night, but certainly very late in a season where we were handily beatinby ACM - Hockey

Trotsky imafrshmn Aesthetics aside, i think it’s so cool to even be able to do 1930s era throwbacks.Everything is OK except that front plate. That's hot garbage right there. The uniforms technically are non-conforming: Rule 9 - Uniforms 9.1 Jerseys - Each player and each goalkeeper listed in the lineup of each team shall wear an individual identifying number at least 10 inches high on theby ACM - Hockey

Mitch Gillam was in AA&P, and he didn't have any trouble breaking into the lineup.by ACM - Hockey
Re: Recruits 2023 and beyond - 2 years ago
Trotsky I was surprised by this last night: Cornell skated one player short despite being at home and having two unused freshmen listed on the roster: Jimmy Rayhill (D) and Dan McIntyre (F). Are we sure those guys are really here yet, or have they been pushed back a year? How is 12 forwards, 7 defensemen and 3 goalies "one player short"?by ACM - Hockey

Trotsky I'm not crazy, right, we should *not* be 4x4 here. It should remain 5x5? Maybe not crazy, but wrong.by ACM - Hockey

Trotsky George64 Stienburg and Berard still out. Is Mike back?I have not seen a single shot of our bench. No idea. Schafer's out. Ben Syer did the pre-game interview.by ACM - Hockey
Re: Second ND Game Thread - 2 years ago
Iceberg Trotsky RichH billhoward This makes up for Cornell giving up the four unanswered goals at Clarkson. Cornell amazing comebacks, twice, at North Dakota. We led 2-1 after 1.Still a comeback, though. NoDak scored first. Key to the whole thing was Shane's stop on the penalty shot. It also helped that unlike in the ECAC, Cornell didn't need to go a man down after the miss. In the NCHCby ACM - Hockey

For those who were wondering about Andreev's goal: 26.2 Net Dislodgement - In the event that the goal post is displaced, either deliberately or accidentally, by a defending player, prior to the puck crossing the goal line between the normal position of the goalposts, the referee may award a goal.
