If you lead a good life, go to Sunday school and church, and say your prayers every night, when you die, you'll go to LYNAH!

Let's hope it's more like six weeks, OK?

EDIT: This is a joke and should not be construed as an actual invitation to PM me for details ;-)

I'm in a class with Krantz, and his right (?) arm's really bandaged up.  Looks like it may be broken or badly sprained.  Not really sure.  So that's the best update I can give you on any of them.  Hopefully it's not as bad as it looks.

I have a question, do we think it is approrpriate to discuss injury specifics of people who we go to school with?  We are in a position to see more than outsiders, specifically the competition.  While I realize that an exchange of information is generally useful, in this case and at the risk of sounding paranoid, it seems to me that less information is better.

I have seen some of our injured and can speculate or have decent idea on what is  wrong but i guess i figure no good can come from this.  So for now ill just wait to hear what the coach says at the end of the season.

This has been discussed many times in the board before. Many of us agree with you, others haven't thought it through.  ;-)

FWIW, this is a good justification for the PM approach: only tell Cornell people who want to know but who can be trusted not to divulge the information to interested third parties.

Krantz' being in class could be a tipoff, too -- that it's not the rumored concussion, that his mind is working after all, that these Cornell players must be taking their opponents lightly if they've got time for other activities.

At the least, consider a third possibility beyond a) agreeing with the majority sentiment or b) having not had time to think enough to agree with the majority -- that c) this whole injury secrecry thing is blown out of proportion. I'm not talking about Cornell's need to keep mum on injury reports because of HIPAA mandates, but the value to the other side of knowing that a player has a bruised arm vs knee ... that wouldn't be evident when you see how gingerly he skates or stickhandles ... that you could take advantage of by having your Nickerson-designee [sorry, that just slipped out] take a run at ... and that this information would not be available to the opposition were it not for looselips.elynah.com.

That said, our poster should probably not walk into the rest room just after class. Krantz' injured appendage might not be as weak as suspected. The ecosystem might generate its own equilibrium.

[edit add] Or this possibility, d) that the bandaging is a decoy. The athletic department has lots of red tape, and maybe they ordered white to go along.

You mean the little yellow smiling? sleeping? something? face that Windows in its wisdom renders at about 3 pixels across and requires the vision of a Luftwaffe pilot to make out? If that meant a wry comment, then ignore my response. I use the simple to mean half-in-jest else let it be. Somehow the emoticons seem to be too, what, intense. Although head-banging-wall is nice. Somebody put a lot of effort into that one. If India overtakes us in GNP, it'll probably because of the overuse of emoticons in the land of the Big Mac. Or overuse of eLynah. Wonder if Karl Marx was thinking of this place in talking about the opiate of the masses.

I saw Moulson the other day in crutches... don't know what that means... Also, my friend said that McKee had a pretty sizable cast from his right palm to his shoulder. Unfortunately, Gleed, both Abbots, Pegoraro, and McCutcheon were in a car accident the other day and all broke their collar bones (they were wearing their seat belts, at least). They will probably be out. Pokoluk has reinjured his ankle, and O'Byrne recently tore his ACL as he was rehabbing his other injury. Topher Scott suffered a pretty serious concussion when using the ice skating maching the other day (it keep speeding up until it burst into flames). Kindret, Kennedy, and Barlow, waiting their turn, all caught on fire and suffered pretty serious burns on their stomachs and 'upper leg' regions. They all missed class the other day and were still in the hospital, according to my girlfriend, who knows Barlow's girlfriend.

Tough luck I guess.
