The TV announcers at one point said there had been discussion of wearing Colgate's road jerseys.   ::yark::
Let's Go RED!

what would have happened if this had been Princeton, or one of the North Country Teams... and a blizzard had blown in?

As much as I loathe that idea, it's still better than having to forfeit.  I still think we should have taken up a collection of jerseys from the crowd of Cornell fans present last night.  There would have been a few repeated numbers, but I could have told you personally that Chris Abbott's jersey would have been accurate. :-D
Is next year here yet?

Pegoraro would have been screwed... I never see anyone with a number 15 jersey, so I think mine is the only one that makes it to most of the games...

Better than a forfeit.

Still, I wonder who is never, ever going to make this mistake again... :)

The team forgetting stuff isn't actually that new. I can recall several times when the band had to load random forgotten equipment (sticks, dryers, helmets, food, Teeter's rings come to mind)for road trips because the team forgot it. Usually the team leaves early enough to notice before the band takes off, but for Colgate the time difference isn't as great. Of course I can't remember any time the jerseys were the forgotten item.

Devin -
Maybe true for road games - but I make every home game with the #15 Red jersey Pegs  wore in the home exhibition game and then auctioned - name plate is   for Steve Giuliani class of 1970  and all frozen four first teamer in 1970.
[Q]15 - Steve Giuliani (1967-70, W/D - 11-73-84) [/Q]
Also see a White 15 jersey at home games on town side regularly -
Go Pegs -  Go BIG RED!
- Lou (Swarthmore MotherPucker 69-74, Stowe Slugs78-82, Hanover Storm Kings 83-85...) Big Red Fan since the 70's

My guess is that forgetting the jerseys was somehow a product of it being a home and home weekend. I'm guessing normally they just load up the jerseys on Friday afternoon before they leave and forget about it, so having to get different jerseys on saturday led to someone forgetting.

Yeah, I'm sure they have a very distinct procedure they follow on a regular road weekend. Being the home and home, and a short trip, its easy to not take the 'routine' so seriously and forget things. Still, it was pretty amusing.

Here's a question for people at the game... did you have any idea what was going on? Other than those of you who may've been asked for jerseys personally :). Or was it just some unspecified delay?

The man on the PA was a dick and made sure to announce it around 7:00 when Colgate was skating around waiting for the anthems, but there was no Cornell team.  He said it with such tone that it was clear he was trying to goad the Colgate fans into yelling something derisive about it.  Not that I blame them, who knows what we'd have done at Lynah if some other team forgot their jerseys?
