Colgate is going to have a "whiteout" Sat night. Should we have a red out for the game friday night?

On colgate's website, they are calling for a student white out on Saturday night:

click the link and then go to the men's hockey page

Should we try to get a student red out on friday night?  I know most people wear red to the game, but there are quite a few students who don't wear red.  Anyone think its about time for a complete red out (or even a white out) for ourselves? How could we spread the word about it?

We can also "red out" their "white out" on Saturday.  I know I'll be at Starr in red:-D

I was at first excited that winter might finally arrive in bare ground central new york, alas this is not the case.  However since i have been lured in i must respond.

Without reading the tootpaste article and in lieu of a bright idea, i think a viral approach would help and be practical from an execution standpoint.  Tell the people you know that they should wear red to counter the toothpaste white out. Any red will do.  A coat, a t-shirt, a xmas sweater, you name it. Tell them to do the same with their freinds. Mention that although Harvard is a big game  this series will largely determine if Cornell ends up at the top or not.  4 point weekend at stake.

Ill goad the people i know who are going.  That's my idea. That said, home jeseys would still suffice.

Of course we should red out. We should also shout out, both Friday and Saturday. They pulled a Harvard with their ticket sales. I had to buy tickets for their Dartmouth and Harvard games in order to get our game.Well, they should learn that they can make it difficult but they can't stop us. Be there, in red, and be loud.

Maybe we should have a...I dunno..."Sea of Red"? ;-)

I was going to suggest we try to push for the Sea of Red again for Harvard, but honestly, I'd love it even more if we can do it for the home games against Colgate, Dartmouth, and Harvard.  Lynah's atmosphere and volume in each of these nights should make the Michigan State games look like a study night in the library.  Lynah needs to be rockin' each of those nights, and the stands should be wall-to-wall red.

Obviously, saying it here is just preaching to the Faithful.  WillR had the right idea: everyone needs to spread the word.  Tell your friends.  Have them tell their friends.  Notify all the facetimers.  If any Sun writers are reading this, maybe you guys could help us out.  People sitting on the townie side should do the same: dress in red and be as loud as you possibly can.  I know a lot of people are good about this already, but we need to have MORE.

Do your part.  Spread the word.

I sent an email to the AD.  I suggested sending out an email to the season ticket holders (I know they have or email addresses) and possibly putting up flyers on campus.  I'll let you know how he responds.  I also think it's a great idea if we could get some sort of mention in the Sun.  If anyone works for the Sun, is there any possible way of promoting this in the paper?

They should call it a "drink-out" based on what those idiots traditionally do for the Cornell game

The hockey boosters also have a large mailing list, and it's amazing how often the word doesn't spread from the students to the boosters.  Considering that these people not only attend virtually ever game, home and away, but also do so while juggling jobs and kids, I think they'll be more than up for a sea of red, if they know about it.

Seriously.  White shirts plus throwing stuff at people doesnt really work.
