I sent an email to the AD.  I suggested sending out an email to the season ticket holders (I know they have or email addresses) and possibly putting up flyers on campus.  I'll let you know how he responds.  I also think it's a great idea if we could get some sort of mention in the Sun.  If anyone works for the Sun, is there any possible way of promoting this in the paper?
Gene Nighman and Sue Detzer are far more likely to do something about it than the AD, and they maintain the season ticket holders list and the CHA list respectively.

Just noticed something interesting in this photograph from last year's Colgate v. Cornell game at Lynah:

Hey, you're right. Charlie Cook's right sock is inside-out.

He's probably refering to the many banners hanging from the ceiling.  As a Colgate fan, he wouldn't be used to seeing that kind of thing.

I'm more shocked that a Colgate student was aware enough that they had a hockey team on a night other than the Cornell game to do that.

Or that they would be able to produce such a convincing shop job...

I've noticed at Penn State, there is always a push to "white out" the student section during home football games and they do an amazing job (including getting a black "S" formation in the crowd).

At the last PSU hockey game I went to, they were giving away white t-shirts to "white out" the crowd against Illinois.  I don't know who organizes the give-aways at PSU, but if there was a giveaway with shirts at Lynah (or even selling stuff for 1-2 dollars a piece) that would probably help in getting a "C of red."

we could all wear green and really confuse the hell out of them...;-)

or maybe not.

We shouldn't do a red out in Lynah just because they're doing a whiteout at Colgate. That's for the wrong reason guys, c'mon. ::nut:: We should do our red out because we want to do our red out. And that should be the end of it, right? ::nut::

I'm seriously gonna make a sign reminding these monkeys that they are stealing this "whiteout" idea from PSU.

That, and the fact that neither of them are Andy Noel.

I'm going to hide in the closet. Someone let me know when the flame war with the "monkeys" is over.

And it's not like Penn State originated it or anything. The whiteout concept is ancient and tired and overused -- hundreds of places have been doing it. I think it first got media attention at Winnipeg Jets home games in the '80s, especially in the playoffs. But Jets fans probably stole it from someone else.

Here's my suggestion for a response to a lame Starr whiteout: For a change, make Lynah f'ing loud the whole f'ing game. Now there's a college hockey tradition worth reviving.

I like it.
It'd make for a funny story.  I'll give it that much credit.
