what is the record for the most cornellians playing in the nhl at the same time?
[/q]

Can't really verify "same time," but in '96-'97 four Cornellians played in at least one NHL game: Drouin, Duffus, Manderville, and Nieuwendyk.

The '92-'93 season had five: D'Alessio, Hayward, Manderville, Nieuwendyk, and Ratushny.

'86-'87 and '87-'88 had four: Dadswell, Eliot, Hayward, Nieuwendyk.

Those four were up for more than a cup of coffee, which wasn't the case for Drouin, Duffus, D'Alessio, Ratushny, Ryan Hughes, JM Pelletier, and Underhill (all played in 3 games or fewer).

Murray is in the lineup for the Sharks tonight in Toronto.  The game is on CBC if anybody gets that, or there's free audio through NHL.com.

Hahaha, apparently Doug just flattened Lindros while killing a penalty. Awesome. Go Dougie.

Yeah yeah, I know it's Saturday night...I'm listening to the radio while I'm getting ready to go out. :-P

ESPN.com says Doug had 7 hits in his 15:11 of ice time, tied for most on the Sharks.  As I mentioned last night, the Sharks' radio guys love the fact that Doug likes hitting people.

David Harding

Baby scored his first goal of the season last night, along with tallying an assist.  On the other hand, he was in the penalty box for boarding when Omaha scored the go-ahead goal.

Omaha sends Wolves to fourth straight loss

12/03/2005
ROSEMONT, Ill.---The Chicago Wolves erased a second-period deficit to even the game after two periods but were victimized by three third-period goals as they dropped their fourth straight game against the visiting Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, 6-4, at the Allstate Arena on Saturday....

[/q]OK, so I've figured out that Ak-Sar-Ben is Nebraska spelled backwards, but, umm...  why do you name the team that?

From http://www.omahaaksarbenknights.com/team/history/

"By the day of the first game, they had become known as the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights in honor of the benevolent society who helped bring the team to town."

And that society, from http://www.aksarben.org/knights/

"The Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation is a 501(c) 3 civic and philanthropic organization with a mission of building a more prosperous Heartland, where communities can flourish and every child can succeed. Formed in 1895. "

Yeah, pretty stupid name for an organization, huh? ;)

Bothered me when I heard they were naming a team that, cause that's just so... silly. But I understand the motivation.

Maybe this guy should spend a little more time covering the hockey game instead of  worrying about other peoples interests.  Oh excuse me, this subject is pertinent to the game since the faithul comprise the 7th man.:-D
