Schafer's record in all games (RS+PS) vs current ECAC opponents:

Harvard, 23-5-2
Brown, 17-2-3
Princeton, 18-5-2
Clarkson, 19-9-1
RPI, 17-9-1
Yale, 15-7-1
Union, 12-5-3
Colgate, 12-9-4
Quinnipiac, 1-0-1
SLU, 10-9-3
Dartmouth, 9-10-1

That's right; Schafer has a losing record vs Dartmouth.

That's pretty much from our 3.5 year 0-7 stretch against them, until we finally topped them at Lynah with Baby and Murray leading the way in '03. Before that that senior class had never beaten them.

So I suppose, but for a bad stretch, we're 9-3-1, but you can't just write that off. But they have been formiddable since then too, they're definitely not an opponent to be taken lightly. Of course, with loses to Princeton and QU (and Gate) this year, us fans may not be blamed for considering it, but they could just be having a bad stretch at an unfortunate time.

On another note, that record against Harvard is incredible.

Yeah - thank goodness he's played 30 vs. Harvard and only 20 vs. Dartmouth...

Especially when you compare it  to McCutcheon's 2-13-3.

I talked with Bob Gaudet a few years back on one of his visits to Lynah during the stretch where Cornell could not beat Dartmouth.  He commented that he loved playing against Cornell, especially coming to Lynah.  He said his freshman were looking forward to the game at Lynah more than any other on the schedule.

Very few coaches can say they "love" coming to Lynah.

He was extremely nice, and chatty for a coach preparing for a game.  We chatted at the bottom of Section A during warm-ups.  It's amazing who you can find at the bottom of Section A willing to chat-it-up prior to a game.

During the MSU series a few of us had a running dialog with an MSU assistant coach who also happened to be head coach Rick Comley's son.  After the first period of game 2 he leaned over and said "Can we stop with the "bald" chant? That's my FATHER!"

IIRC, Moulson led the charge in that game, completing his first college hat trick.  Just wanted to give credit where credit is due.

given ... but at that point, on that team, Matt wasn't keyed on as much in part due to the cast around him.
