Attendance could be very bad tonight with the roads being as bas as they are.  Some of the roads around Cornell are totally closed.

The BC and UNH game for tonight has already been postponed till Monday.  Any chance we might see some more postponements?

I hope so -- it's nasty travelling out there. I can always walk to the game, but it'd be nuts holding it tonight.

AIC vs. Bentley and Sacred Heart vs. Army have also been postponed, to Tuesday, Feb. 8; and Merrimack vs. Northeastern to Monday, Jan. 24.

I've been watching weather.com for ithaca, and they just dropped the forecasted snowfall for tonight to 3-5 inches, and its not snowing too hard. I'm guessing if they are gonna postpone it they would have to decide pretty soon.

UConn banned people from sleeping out last night for today's UConn-Pitt basketball game due to "severe weather and a potential for significant health hazards."

Let me put this in perspective. I went to the Co-op first thing Friday morning; there were 6 tents in front of Gampel Pavilion, presumably from Thursday night. It was 2 out.

That's hard core.

Work is no longer an excuse to live near an ECACHL team... :(

I'm inclined to say that since the Dartmouth and Vermont teams are already in Central New York and the same goes for RPI and Union, it makes sense to play the games rather than make the long drives home through the storm.  *shrug*

The option would probably be postponement to Sunday afternoon, not cancellation.  But as was noted, it should already have been announced if it was going to happen.  There's no sense in everybody driving all the way to the rink just to find out the game's tomorrow.

Has anybody ever heard of a game being "pre-poned"?  Say, for example, during baseball season there's a near certainty of a hurricane hitting a site on Sunday.  A logical solution: move the Sunday game up to create a Saturday twinbill.

Does that ever happen?

Wasn't a Miami Dolphins game moved to a Saturday last fall?
