Gives us a boost in PWR. Can't complain.
The only guy complaining is the trophy maker. He had to scratch "Harvard" off of the 4th place line where he engraved it before the games started figuring it was efficient. He also engraved "Boston" on the 1st and 2d place lines, so don't feel too bad for him. Not everything went to waste.

Hard do say what did the most - Sucks winning or UMass dropping off the TUC Cliff.

Ya, TUC really helped us edge over Notre Dame. Our COp record really sucks...

As we wait for the obligatory, why are you worrying about PWR, we have to win the ECAC to get a bid.:-D And that's probably correct. Even if we beat Union in 2 weeks, if we then lose the ECAC, we'll probably be back where we are now. And that's not good enough to get a bid.

I got as far as hitting "Reply" and decided it just wasn't worth it.

Can we just stipulate that if I spent long enough with the calculators, I would be be able to find a scenario where Cornell gets an at-large bid, or are you going to make me go through the motions?  :)

I vote "Make him go through the motions."

Glad you could muster the energy to emphasize the futility of paying attention to the PWR so far before the NCAA Tournament when it was me obsessing over the PWR. ;-)

Even if we have a chance at an at-large bid by beating Union, it does not eliminate the need for Cornell to make a very deep run into the ECACs to even have a chance at the NCAA Tournament. I've got tickets to AC, so I'm not complaining.

Really?  We're tied for 15 right now (falling to 17th on tiebreakers).  We only have to move up 2 places to get an at large bid, past teams we're already tied with, since in my what-if scenario only the AHA auto-bid will come from outside the top 16.  If our only loss is in the ECAC championship to a non-TUC (easy enough) while I make all the teams around us lose all their remaining games, it seems pretty obvious to me that we'd end up in the top 15.

Look, don't get too serious about this. I said I doubt it, in a play on your words. This was a joke, following Age's long running comments. I still doubt it, mainly because every time you have someone lose, someone else wins, and that gums up everything. I didn't say it was impossible, just that I doubt it. I say that somewhat in jest, and more based upon my feeling that there is not a reasonable path for us to get a bid by losing. If it happens, I'll be ecstatic, but I'm not counting on it.

Oh god, see, now you got me being serious.::scared:: I've got to stop before I really end up trying to defend a point that I made in jest and that I don't care about. I'm ::bolt::
