Cornell vs Harvard, ECAC QF Game 1, 3/13/26

One of the girls near me, at the beginning of the game, was like "oh, he's really cute!"
Me, peering at the scoreboard to see which players are on it: who?
Her: the old guy that gives out the papers!
(She ended up catching three Snickers, too!)

It's all selective perception.

it is not all selective perception! we still win a lot because we are significantly better than a lot of the opposition and good enough to hang with anyone.

Read what I said.  We are objectively strong.  The variance in the perception is mostly just our reconning based on result.

Cornell's offensive playmaking/awareness has been pretty abysmal for much of the season, and especially so tonight. They have no idea what to do on odd-man rushes. They run out what look like four third lines. Cornell got caught playing a transition game which Harvard is much better at, as they have actual offensive firepower. The freshmen have been rough in the second half of the season, save for a few. Lots of mistakes and little production.

Is anybody going to thank BearLover for the turnaround this weekend? My friend with locker room access confirmed this post has been hanging on the team bulletin board since 8am Saturday. Much better passing, offensive awareness, and spacing ever since I posted it.

Our team needed playoff experience. Lotta freshmen who haven't played an NCAA playoff game.

And also, taught them that not every win is guaranteed and you gotta face the adversity.

I think Gate would've baited us into a lot more Crimebaggery and it would've been a pain in the ass. Harvard's... mostly clean, at least.

I think this is a really good point. Casey referred to learning from the tapes in his post-game interview. 

And there is nothing like the atmosphere of Harvard at Lynah!
