Quote from: Trotsky on February 04, 2026, 03:29:15 PMIt's a crime he isn't the NC$$ G award.  Only thing I can think of is the ECAC honor was named first so the NC$$ committee had to look elsewhere (I still wouldn't have).

I just dug a little. The award was created by "Let's Play Hockey" magazine and the Herb Brooks Foundation. So it's not an "NC$$ committee" thing, just like the Hobey isn't controlled by the NC$$.

This story from 2013 has a quote from "Mr. College Goaltending" Richter about how honored he is, but doesn't mention how much he bribed the magazine & foundation.

My choice for the real NC$$ G award.  Would also right an ancient wrong.

You've still got your looks.

As big of a travesty as the name of the award is, it's worse that Galajda (1.56, .931, 23-2-4) lost out in 2019-2020 in favor of Jeremy Swayman of Maine (2.07, .939, 18-11-5).

C'mon, man.

Let's Go RED!

Swayman seems to have done ok for himself as a pro, though.
I had forgotten that Galajda went and played a grad year at Notre Dame. Is he still playing pro in Sweden?

Retired I guess?

Jesus, that final season 5-9-0 1.97 .935.  Who's a girl gotta fuck to get some offensive support here?
