A Union player flipped Curtis to the ground in some sorta MMA takedown. She's hurting. (No penalty on the play.)

I feel like it's been a while since so much was up in the air going into the last weekend of the regular season. I think Cornell can finish anywhere from 2nd to 7th, Cornell still has a shot at the Ivy title, too, but needs either Yale or Brown to take points from Princeton.

How did the M and W seasons get so far displaced?  IIRC they used to be just 1 week askew.

The gap got bigger when they expanded the NCAA tournament; I think they moved the start date of the season earlier at the same time. Non-Ivies play regular season games starting in late September now.

Didn't get to see the game tonight, but Cornell beats SLU in overtime and can get a first-round bye with a win tomorrow against Clarkson.

And they won the Ivy title tonight!

Cornell gave up two EAG to blow a big lead in the final minutes. Been a rough season. Hoping for a big recruiting class next year. I know this has been beaten to death, but...if we're allowed the roster spots, why not use them and field a full lineup?

BL, it's February 14. They aren't calling someone up from AAA.

I'm talking about next year ("hoping for a big recruiting class next year").

No shit. This year, can't add players. But I agree with BL's point that next year, having a big recruiting class would be good, even if only to Have People On The Bench. Beating the dead horse again, but we literally only have 11 forwards rostered rn.

i get it but my larger point is "do we think that the women's hockey team intentionally left a roster spot unfilled" for budgetary or other reasons? asking the question (repeatedly) assumes a foolishness on Derraugh and his staff that i don't think they've earned.

That's definitely fair. I think they know what they're doing, just curious about it all. Women's hockey commits aren't as "talked about" on here - like, I have zero idea who's coming in next year. I don't think we "lost" any commits this year, but 🤷
