Quote from: BearLover on February 14, 2026, 09:26:56 AMHoping for a big recruiting class next year. I know this has been beaten to death, but...if we're allowed the roster spots, why not use them and field a full lineup?
BL, it's February 14. They aren't calling someone up from AAA.
No shit. This year, can't add players. But I agree with BL's point that next year, having a big recruiting class would be good, even if only to Have People On The Bench. Beating the dead horse again, but we literally only have 11 forwards rostered rn.
i get it but my larger point is "do we think that the women's hockey team intentionally left a roster spot unfilled" for budgetary or other reasons? asking the question (repeatedly) assumes a foolishness on Derraugh and his staff that i don't think they've earned.
That's definitely fair. I think they know what they're doing, just curious about it all. Women's hockey commits aren't as "talked about" on here - like, I have zero idea who's coming in next year. I don't think we "lost" any commits this year, but 🤷

From what's out there, it appears there are 6 F and 3 D coming in next season, with 3 F and 3 D graduating. If everyone returns, I think that would put next season's roster closer to what it was before this year.

Well any time someone on an Internet forum questions the coaching, it's probably the rando on the Internet forum who's wrong. In this case though, it defies logic why you'd bring in so few players that you can't even roll four lines with a healthy team. And now we have enough injuries that we can't roll even *three* lines. And no, highly doubt it's budgetary, but maybe we just couldn't get a kid to fill the spot.

I think *I've* earned better faith than this! From you specifically, even if I bust your balls.

I cobble together info from EliteProspects, a couple of recruiting sites and bios on national team pages, haha. It also looks like the 2027-28 incoming class could be 9-10 players.

At some point, I'll see if I can figure out who has actually publicly announced their commitments and post a list.

Here is a list from Sydney Wolf's site:

https://www.apx-hockey.com/news-detail-17

Click on the ECAC section and it should launch a spreadsheet with tabs for each team.

I exported this file to Excel and added heights.  I'll see if I can dig that up.

This is one of the sites I check as well. Also has a pretty good tracker once the transfer portal opens.

Hard fought 2-1 win against Clarkson today clinches the 4 seed and home playoff series for Cornell, along with the first round bye. All under the incessant bell ringing and unfriendly confines of Cheel Arena. Really good 60 minute effort today to close the regular season.

Hell yeah. Despite the rocky season overall, looks like we're in a solid spot to get momentum going into the playoffs.

At the end, only 3 losses in league play to teams that finished outside the top 4. I haven't seen any updates on Avar, but hopefully the week off is enough time to get her back for the quarterfinals.
