But leaning on its marquee depth, Cornell used two exciting third periods to pull away from the Mavericks and remain perfect at Lynah Rink so far this season.

Jane is such a good, thorough writer.

My take away was that if we look at the big picture, and not micro-manage each shift over every weekend, we are a very good team, in a good position, with a solid "upside" going forward. I don't see this team having a slump or meltdown....perhaps a hic up like at Clarkson, keeping us in the conversation all season. Need steady play between the pipes and we'll be ok. #LGR

Jane is such a good, thorough writer.

She's the opposite of almost all sportswriting, including the most lauded people.  She virtually never leans on cliches* or sentimentality.  She isn't lazy.  She has a great eye (ear?) for using events and quotes to feed her narrative.  She constructs columns solidly, and is in other ways a fine writer.

* _{Yes, yes, working hard being Cornell's forte and older guys welcoming the young guys are both 100% leaden hockey cliches.  But in general Jane doesn't do that.}

I don't think he's talking about Robertson, I think he's talking about recruits that weren't interested. Maybe that means Pelletier but I doubt that too. I think it's generic coachspeak.
