VPN through another country and get their feed.  US Olympic coverage has been known to cause deep fork marks in the forehead.  Doctors are still exploring the cause.

Plus Australian detective crime fiction ads are a hoot.

If the opening night of NBC prime time is any indication, this is good advice. NBC will hammer the presence of such current winter athletes such as Snoop Dogg, Simone Biles, Shawn White, and 23.5 hours of Lindsey Vonn and her ACL every damn day.  I'm sure they will find some way to bring Michael Phelps on.

Stay away from NBC, stick to specialized Peacock event coverage.

I streamed Italy-France on something called CBC-Gem by wearing a toque and pretending to be from BC.
Somehow the Peacock announcers managed to talk nonstop about Lindsay while Breezy Johnson was actively skiing and sitting on a gold-medal time.

Yeah, I found that incredibly rude to Johnson. Just as bad was the post-race interview she had with the NBC reporter, who seemed more interested in Johnson's take on Vonn's crash than in asking Johnson about her amazing achievement.

NBC and their billions for the Olympic rights have done nothing but make the skiing the "Lindsey Vonn Show (featuring Bode Miller)" for over 20 years now. Instead of investing in letting the events speak for themselves, they instead aim to carve Mount Rushmore-sized celebrity. Vonn, Shaun White, Ono, Phelps, Biles, etc. get (as great as they are) outsized coverage, while incredibly talented athletes like Johnson get their wonderful achievements covered as an undercard if you don't have NBC's marketing lens lined up on you. As always.

More sports, less profiles. ABC & CBS did it better.

(That said, the Peacock streamer is excellent for a la carte choices).

Canada - USA, Women's hockey preliminary round

With Marie-Philip Poulin sidelined due to an injury sustained vs Czech yesterday thanks to a hard check by Kaltounkova, Jenner moves up to center the first line with Maltais and Spooner. Kristin O'Neill's 4th line remains intact. For USA, Rory Guilday remains as the 7th defenseman, and she might expect somewhat limited action today.

This game should carry a trigger warning.  The solace is Russia beat the hell out of the US right before the 1980 Olympics.  Right?

As a decidedly non-patriotic american, i'm just hoping for a good game and potentially a good gold medal game. USA has been able to lean into their team speed and take away time and space from CAN's playmakers and really take away CAN's forechecking and transition game, which is a tough watch. USA has the superior athletes in Knight, Heise, and Edwards and should be favored to go all the way.

Over the past year the US seems to have gotten some separation vs. the Canadians for the 1st time maybe ever.

Yes.  Best player out there as far as seeing the ice.  Also the worst embellisher outside of soccer.

Sure looks like it, although Canada missing their best player can't help.

But we are absolutely playing like ass today.  And the US is doing everything right.
