mark my words ... Cornell will be fine next season, relatively.  There will be news of players coming in just as much as players going out.  It's a whole new transient world.  And while the Ivies are a little more immune to that, not entirely.  And Casey is very aggressive on this.

Now ... what I do believe - for all ECAC teams - is that this transience doesn't help in the national picture. Because a way of overcoming the "talent" gap with the big schools is players who stick around. So even if the players coming in are just as talented as those going on - I do believe the revolving door effect is a negative.

But on talent alone - Cornell will be even or net-positive next season. When all is said and done.

He's the starter at a good hockey team that makes the NCAAs on the regular. Why would you transfer out if it wasn't scholarship/other money?

Perception that the ECAC is a weak league is probably the biggest problem. He may also be struggling in school or doesn't like the coaches, who knows. I just think when you have a prospect trying to make the NHL then getting 30-50K from a B10 school isn't the biggest thing. But let's see where he ends up I guess.

It's all fun and games until he goes to QPAC because they can pay him. Absolute malpractice at this point by the athletic department that we don't have some sort of NIL/Rev Share program with our players. Absolutely pathetic that we cannot keep a kid who we were the only team to give him a chance and the second he is offered a penny he is on his way out. Meanwhile you see Dartmouth keep all of there kids and hit the portal with the Dman. WAKE UP AND GET WITH THE CHANGING TIMES!
