Yeah, I do not know at all what is up.

My guess is the team requested freebird. They probably practice with it and barely see the band so have become accustomed to hearing it when they score

The band has been told that there is an Ivy and NCAA rule involved. Which is bizarre and likely wrong or wrongly interpreted.

Yeah, I do not know at all what is up.

I'm pretty sure that it is an NCAA policy that the host of an NCAA game is not permitted to have the home team's band playing, same for the Ivy tournament.

And they scored 21 last Friday with the band playing, so I'm going to go with tradition not being something to throw out.

QuoteNo. 1 Men's Lacrosse Advances to NCAA Quarterfinals After Shutting Down Albany in Second Round

By Alexis Rogers and William D. Cawley
Cornell Daily Sun
...
"Albany played a great game and made things challenging for us," said head coach Connor Buczek '15 MBA '17. "Our guys got their footing under them, got past the first tournament game jitters, and our defense did a great job keeping us in it."
...
"Sometimes frustration sets in if we're not finishing our opportunities," Buczek said. "That's the resilience of this group. You saw it last weekend against Princeton. You saw it today. They stayed the course."
...
"It doesn't have to be perfect, but it's got to be tough. It's got to be disciplined," Buczek said. "More games than not we play a pretty version [of lacrosse], but not today, and that's okay. Whatever gets it done."
...
Senior defenseman Jayson Singer has been assigned opponents' top attackmen all year and starred again ... Senior short stick defensive midfielder Christopher Davis also ... continue[d] his tremendous season after a career riddled with injuries.

"The fact that he is executing at the level that he is, it's literally unreal," Buczek said. "He is a superstar."

In a season where the Red have struggled with depth at SSDM, missing players like Michael Bozzi and Charlie Box with injury, Davis' success is monumental.

"We hope [players return] shortly, but time will tell," Buczek said.

I don't believe in "clutch" but this team shows amazing poise late in games.

upprdeck

we have a team in the final 8 and hockey gets tons of discussion while Lax gets none.

I love the lacrosse team -I'd trade every future championship of any pro team I care about for one national title for either the CU hockey or CU lax teams- but to be fair this is the ELynah forum with a lot of posters that may only care about/understand hockey.

That's because Bearlover isn't getting everyone upset on the lacrosse part of this forum.

Yeah fanlax has 78 pages going. I'm glad we have this thread but if you're into Cornell lacrosse you should definitely check out fanlax.

Like, I think I get it, and then something happens during a game, mostly with substitutions and such, where I just throw up my hands.

But I still like watching it.
