It's nearing the end of the campaign, but I am typing this out to put a bug in everyone's ear for 2026 (and maybe move up the leaderboard for 2025.

Every Day Should Be Saturday, an excellent college football blog, spawned Shutdown Fullcast, an excellent college football podcast. For years now they have sponsored an annual fundraising drive to support New American Pathways, a not-for-profit in Georgia that helps with refugee resettlement* and the attendant expenses and complications of living in a new country. What they call the Charity Bowl also acts as a competition - all donations are attributed to the donor's chosen school* - and there is a leaderboard. Cornell currently sits at 5th in the Ancient Eight. 5th of nine, if you include "Child Labor at the Harvard-Yale game" which would be in 6th.

There's only a day left in this year's charity drive, so if you want to give, give. Beat Harvard.

* I get it that this may not be your bag - eLF obviously has posters from across the political spectrum. If it is not, don't donate. Please do not turn this topic into a debate about immigration policy.

** the collection of goofy "assignments" or people who don't have an alma mater they choose to give to, and those that are not a different Fullcast in-joke, are attributed to the general entity Protect Trans Kids University. if this is something that gets under your skin there isn't much i can do for you. please don't tell me about it.
