Walsh gets a 5 min major for *checks notes* getting punched in the throat and then trying to swat the guy away via facemask.

BMac

Wow. That's the biggest load of bullshit.

Tom Lento

This would be a great moment for Cornell to bust out a power kill.

Dafatone

I think it was Walsh who got this called on him earlier this year.

I've been watching sports for over 55 years. If that's the rule, it's as bad a rule as there is in sports, and the officials have to use common sense given the situation.

that's right though and they all know it. the instigator immediately started yelling for the call.

abmarks

fucking weaksauce.

At least there's only 2 minutes left in the period, so we've got time to rest the boys at intermission before coming back out for 3

Sperris

I just don't see anything. This is going to be hard to kill.

Jeff Hopkins '82

Kill of the 2, get out of the period, then kill the rest.

stereax

And my ESPN app is crapping out again and won't show me the game. Screaming into a paper bag.

Yup. What's funny is that when we got hit by this earlier this year, the announcers (road game. Princeton maybe?) talked about how they see this call every couple weeks, even though it was new to me.
