I think we could have won the national championship this year if a bunch of guys didn't have the flu. Penn State was very winnable and WMU would have been hard, but no worse than 45% IMO. Sad, we were so close. Hopefully Casey has some strategies in mind to improve the program.

I also feel we could have had we gotten refs that weren't on the other team's  bench (aka payroll) at the BU game

The rule couldn't be more cut and dry.  You can't grab a facemask.  It doesn't matter the scenario that leads up to it.  We learned earlier in the season that it won't be tolerated.  I don't think it's a play that should be an automatic major but it's what the rule book calls for.

I think if they'd called it on the ice they would have given one of the two Terriers double-teaming him a minor, but since it was a replay challenge, they could only assess the major.

I don't think anything would have come of that get together if not for the facemask.  Walsh would have been better off with a punch than what he did do

we're all talking about the facemask call but how about yegorov and lachance double-teaming kraft, literally throwing him to the ice, and no penalty being called on that? that's much more egregious of a missed call. the facemask sucks but that's how it is in the rulebook :/

Calling it vs the Rule is the major problem

Its one thing to miss am elbow that knocks someone silly and replay to call it

Its another thing to call a facemask play like that as a major unless the tugging is egregious. Its a bad rule

Especially when punching is not allowed and when was the last time you saw them review those randomly other than when its a complete scrum?
