Quote from: djk26Give it up for Ian Shane--34 saves today.  When's the last time a Cornell goaltender had 30 saves (other than, you know, last year against Maine)?  Probably not in an ECAC game.

Pretty sure he had 30+ against BU at MSG last year, and he'll probably need to make about that many on Saturday.

Indeed. MSU is still the faster team but they look a little more tired to me.

Looks on their faces. They haven't had to work exactly like this. They don't even know what's happening to them.

I just wanted to read this because it's one of my favorite game posts I've made.

THEY NEVER SAW US COMING

I also called Mack scoring on a group text while we were down 3-2.

Can confirm. 7:42 eastern.

and he can take Augustine with him

He goes by Tre because he's James Augustine III. And he's a name... and number [zooms in on his jersey number which is somehow 1 rather than 3] to remember.
Kenneth James Augustine III. Trey. Wears... 1. Ok then. You'd expect 33, maybe, if you don't want 3 given that's a skater's number...

He's honoring his grandfather for being the first. You really gonna hate on that fine young man?

Can I hate on that overly-produced dramatic video they made? His grandfather was 91 and passed away a few years ago. It's a little sad, but it's not like he overcame extreme adversity as the piece implied.

At least he didn't live to see this.

Yikes. Well played.

ER, bud, I love Auggy and I have since probably the World Juniors this year. But tonight? Tonight I'm gonna make fun of him.

Has he even given up 4 goals in a game this year?
There was one game on 01/30 vs Ohio State. The only other time? Tonight.

Cornell did it again, knocking off a 1 seed -- this time Michigan State, thanks to a PPG with 10 seconds left in regulation. The Big Red will play Boston University on Saturday. ... Not to be outdone, Western Michigan needed 2 OT, but survived in a 2-1 win over Minnesota State.

No, that was just. Stellar. I looked up when I saw that post and went "god damn, Rich is right, they look shellacked".

The contrast with the Cornell bench during the timeout at the start of that glorious power play was stunning.

Perfect time of year to visit Toledo. Should've been on my bucket list.

Quote from: snert1288Obviously the games from your college days always stand out. But, this one felt like Northeastern in 2009. Will remember both of them (and many others) for a long time.

Somehow solved Thiessen that day. Hobey Baker finalist. Hockey East POTY

I believe the color analyst in that game was the same as today's - Sean Ritchlin.

That final 20-30 second sequence on the PP was so masterful, it's almost hard to believe we had it in us. We absolutely undressed Sparty with the last couple passes--those guys were practically shitting the bed. Champagne hockey. Cheers Schafe.

Quote from: TrotskyThey just know more about MSU -- natural factory school bias for Bristol.  Like I said, I typically don't mind but this is more offensive than usual.

The CU feed is fine except for the occasional Sturmtruppen interloping.

PBP guy went to Michigan State. Color guy went to Michigan.

Bill Pidto '87 and Darren Eliot '80 could do the game.
