Quote from: ugarteWalsh, after turning the puck over 3x on the PP, gets a penalty as soon as it expires. Come on, man.
I thought it was Ian.
oh maybe i misheard and Walsh served the penalty for Shane
DeSantis served for Shane, I think.

I don't know I'm going by Grady and Tim.

Walsh 10-3 on Faceoffs, Castagna 7-3.  Cornell is 24-17 overall.

Walsh did take the first penalty of the pair early in the period.

Quote from: CU2007I think the safety school is better against the Yales and Princetons of the world than, say, Colgate. In that case, it's just sort of arrogant.

The arrogance is the point. It's a cheer at a hockey game, not a society ball. Should be liberally applied against all non-Ivies. Particularly Clarkson and RPI, the safety schools of many a Cornell engineer.

To my mind, saying it when playing HY or P has always been kind of stupid.

It is irony, but irony could use a 200-year rest.  It was a fine thing before everybody decided they were Mencken.

It was great when used against HYP when they, say, committed a too many men on the ice penalty. Now it's done so often and so robotically that, as you indicate, the irony has been lost.

Chants begin as clever inspiration, become Pavlovian response, and end as mindless herd droning.

cf. Remote control goalie.

Fegaras and Ondrej both on the board in their first weekend back. I guess they mattered.

Yeah that's what I thought. Must've misunderstood. Damn, I should go to a safety school.
